Friedrich Kuhlau (1786-1832) was a younger contemporary of Beethoven whom he knew and admired. I was first introduced to the Sonatinas by my piano teacher when I was at school. This is a short extract from Op. 20, No. 2-Adagio sostenuto & Allegro scherzando.
