What I Forgot to Tell You

Just passed a month of marriage
And I’m starting to remember who I am
What I stand for
And why I’m here

But I’ve just realized
that I forgot to tell you

I forgot to tell you
that I believe that life
is all about the struggles and the triumphs
That God is always there
That eight thousand ditches
can’t compete with one sunset
or one sincere “I love you”

I forgot to tell you
that giving up
is just not the answer
That we live
until we leave
not until we die

I was never embarrassed
or ashamed
about my outlook on life
I was never shy about showing my faith

And yet, somehow
finding myself caught
in the mix of love and dreams
and some morbid sense of reality…
I forgot to tell you

who I am.
