| Ken Carpenter--a WW II army band director, holds
a Ph.D. degree from the University of Iowa. 1937 was his first year to run
his own dance band, and that year he was also a staff musician at radio
station WHO in Des Moines. (At that time Ronald Reagan was their sports
announcer!). While his "day job" from 1941 to 1982 was as a high school
and college band director and music professor, he was nearly always
playing for dances on the side. He was president of the Iowa Bandmaster's
Association during the same year he was president of his local Rotary
Club. In 20 years of retirement he has enoyed being involved in several
musical groups, which " helps to keep him young."Ken and his wife Helen
have four children,(all musical), ten grandchildren, and nine great
grandchildren. |
| David L. Hausmann - Grew up in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa. Taught Band in Bayard, Iowa for 3 year & then taught music (Band, Choir, Guitar, Theory) for the Department of Defense Schools in Izmir, Turkey and Rota, Spain for 15 years. Earned his Masters Degree From the University of Southern California. Moved to Lampasas, Texas in 1981 and was a Band Director for 21 years. Retired in 2002. Played Sax in the Leo Deagas Band of Carroll, Iowa while teaching in Bayard. Played sax with two different versions of Mellow (a 4 to 5 piece combo) in Rota, Spain. Performs now with the Heights Concert Band in Harker Heights, The Flashbacks, The Carlton R. Morris Big Band and also for weddings and small parties with a pre-programmed keyboard and sax. Has also played organ/keyboard at Faith Lutheran Church here in Lampasas for the past 21 years. Directs the Faith Luteran Church Choir and plays for the Sunday School opening. Has written many songs (Christian & secular) over the years. His wife Sheryl and He have two boys, with 4 GRANDchildren. His oldest son Curt is married to Helen and they are blessed with Bobby & Erica. His youngest son Clark is married to Julie and they are blessed with Nicholas & Jessica. Sheryl, his wife, owns and runs the Alleluia Book Store on 3rd Street here in Lampasas. Come on over and Shop. |
| Jim Anderson-Has been playing Tenor Sax with the Flashbacks since 1997 .He also plays with the Skylarks.Jim and his wife Taffy live in Lago Vista. |

HENRY SAVAGE Henry occupied the Bari. Sax chair for many years.When he is in town, he still subs for us on any of the sax parts.He was one of the movers and shakers who fisrt conceived of the idea of monthly dances. Then he went beyond the idea and got it started. |
JESSICA HALL Jessica is a graduate of Baylor University, and is now studying law at Texas Wesleyan. And,yes, her dad is Randy Hall. |
