Spike Lee To Appear On TVONE
Spike Lee and Cathy Hughes
Silver Spring, MD (BlackNews.com) - Award-winning director, producer and writer Spike Lee discusses his legendary career in the film business, his views on Hollywood, the Oscars and the lack of diversity in the movie business, and his outspokenness against the glamorization of the thug lifestyle in an interview with TV One on One host Cathy Hughes premiering Thursday, March 23 at 8 PM, repeating at midnight (all times ET).

The filmmaker also discusses two of his latest projects, the feature film Inside Man, which premieres Friday, March 24 and stars Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Clive Owen; and the HBO documentary he is producing about the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Hughes also asks Lee about his role in providing many African Americans with a foot in the door in the film business, including such major stars as Halle Berry, Queen Latifah, Martin Lawrence, Mekhi Phifer and S. Epatha Merkerson, each of whose first film role was in a Spike Lee movie.

Later in the interview, Lee is joined by his wife, author and children's television producer Tonya Lewis Lee, and the two discuss a wide range of topics with Ms. Hughes, including how they met, their family backgrounds, their children and her publishing career.

The Spike Lee interview will also air on Friday, March 24 at noon and 4 AM, Saturday, March 25 at 6:30 (immediately preceding the telecast of Spike Lee's film, Mo' Better Blues, also starring Denzel Washington) and Sunday, March 26 at 5 PM (immediately following a rebroadcast of Mo' Better Blues) and Friday, March 31 at 11 AM and 11 PM (all times ET).
