LU Assembly minutes of meeting |

|
These are the minutes of the latest general assembly of LU
open sit in, at Al Liqa' on Friday, Jan 2. A previous evaluation meeting had been done on Tuesday, and many suggestions were being made. Attendance: about 25 activists of LU and private universities that were participants of the Students open sit in for LU. Decisions: - Each activists or group of activists in any LU faculty or private university starts connections and investigates the effect of the open sit in on the students and their opinions in it. General discussions and open general meetings about the LU issue are very much recommended to take place in addition to practical suggestions for activities. - A general meeting will take place on Friday, Jan 16, at 5:00 at Liqaa, to discuss the results of the discussions in the different LU faculties and factions. - A preparation and connections committee is formed of 5 persons to handle preparation issues and assure some connections. Suggestions: Several suggestions were being made: - Distributing informative flyer about the open sit in, the first day of LU entrance. - One central activity ( candle light, sit it..) every month - various activities in the different LU faculties and factions according to the situation of each one. - distributing bayan about the LU issue the first day the LU opens. - having a watch (marsad) for the developments and corruption that take place in the LU faculties and factions. - having a general seminar or long day discussions about the LU case. ... Opinions: Some opinions stressed on avoiding an organizational structure for the present group but rather let the campaign develop after meeting with LU students when it opens. Other opinions stressed the importance of having a certain form to talk by its name to the people and students. Another opinion was to consider the guidelines that the sit it has focused to be the mainframe and the political form to act upon in the LU faculties |
