**BIOGRAPHY** (taken from Kennedy Center website) Peter Cincotti, pianist, singer, composer and arranger is bringing bring pure jazz to a whole new audience. A 20-year old student at Columbia University in his native Manhattan, he is the youngest performer ever to play an extended run at the Algonquin Hotel's famed Oak Room. Influenced by the pianism of Errol Garner and the vocal stylings of Frank Sinatra, Mr. Cincotti has been mentored by Harry Connick, Jr. since the age of seven, when Connick invited the young jazz prodigy to join him onstage during a performance by Connick in Atlantic City. Over the next few years, Mr. Cincotti toured with Connick, played the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, and guest starred in the off-Broadway hit Our Sinatra. He received an honorable mention in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with his composition "Big Bad Daddy” and won an award at the 2000 Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland for his rendition of Dizzy Gillespie's "A Night in Tunisia." Mr. Cincotti has studied jazz piano with Ellis Marsalis and classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music and with concert pianist Lev Natochenny. His self-titled Concord Records debut, Peter Cincotti, was released in March 2003. Peter Cincotti made his Kennedy Center debut on September 5, 2003, in two sold-out K.C. Jazz Club performances.
