It's a boy!!!!!
Dan Magee and his wife Kirsten gave birth to a baby boy, Daniel the 4th, after his grandfather. He's 7 lbs., 7 oz, healthy, both eats and cries a lot, has a lot more hair than his dad...and we have no idea who he looks like.

Message from Steve Dolan:

Dear Lions,

I have some very important information that I want to share with you. I am much more comfortable expressing myself in person then I am through e-mail, but I do not have another option at this time. My family and I leave for our annual Minnesota trip tomorrow and will not be back until July 5th. For that reason, it will be very difficult for me to communicate with people the next two weeks. I just want to start with the fact that I have just made the hardest decision in my life. I have accepted the opportunity to be the Men’s Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach at Princeton University. The decision was so hard to make because I truly love what I am doing now at The College of New Jersey. I feel a very close bond with our alumni and consider many in this group to be my closest of friends. I have always considered the TCNJ track and cross country program one big family. I know we have influenced each others lives in many ways. I love the people that are currently on the teams. I pray that my sons have friends and associate with people of the character that I feel is common among this group. I am also confident that next years incoming class is probably the most talented group ever to join our program both academically and athletically in my tenure. It is those reasons, and so many more, that makes leaving my current position so difficult.

The coaching position at Princeton is an opportunity and a challenge that I feel I can not pass up. It is probably the only school in the country that I would have even considered applying at this time. I have not applied for any other coaching positions in all my years at TCNJ. I am both excited and nervous as I embark on this new course. I hope I am as blessed in the years to come at Princeton, as I have been at TCNJ. I know some of you may be upset or even mad at my decision. I hope in time you can understand why I am intrigued by the opportunity. My leaving TCNJ is not in the least bit about not liking it here. I love TCNJ! It is important to me the tradition of excellence that you represent is maintained or enhanced in the years to come. I think very highly of our Athletic Director (Kevin McHugh), and am confident that he will make a great decision as he selects the future leaders of this program.

Everything that I told you about The College of New Jersey still exists. It’s a great school academically, a beautiful campus, and the track/cross country teams are awesome. Your future and this programs future are very bright. You will hear more in the next few weeks about the direction of what will happen with our current coaching staff. I have been fortunate to coach will such great people and know my relationship will not end with this group since they are also some of my best friends. I would really like the opportunity to see you before the end of the summer. I am inviting you to join me for a TCNJ Track & XC barbeque at my house on Sunday, July 25 at 6:00. I understand if your life schedule doesn’t allow you to attend or if you are upset with my decision and opt not to attend. I look forward to the opportunity to spend some time with all that can join us. So Nicole and I have some idea of how many people to plan for, please RSVP by July 21 via e-mail to trackxc@TCNJ.edu.

(Directions withheld for security purposes.)

Sincerely,
Steve Dolan

Congrats to you Steve!
Go to Princeton University with the support of the alumni group. You will be sorely missed by us all as well as your current and incoming runners. You'll always be part of this group no matter where you are!

Not to jump on a seat that's still warm, but several alumni have voiced their opinions that an alumnus of the program should take the reins now. Currently Tom Metz is the number 1 and unopposed choice for the position. The starter's pistol is your hands now Metzie, if this is YOUR dream, you need to make it happen.
