Lion Invitational: This Saturday, April 27, 2002 is the Lion Invitational along with the prestigious Alumni Mile. Hopefully we'll have times by Friday for all of you that wish to attend. Last time we checked there weren't too many alumni able to attend. If you're planning on going please email Glenn Fuchs, perhaps we can have an alumni gathering after the meet or something. |

Stories Update: Phrases, Terms, Places, People, Nicknames, Events, and Questions has been consolidated. All items in this category are now under the one page instead of two. Update from Tom Metz: Dear Friends and Family, I just wanted to let everyone know how my blood test went. The really good news is they only found some small lymph nodes under both arm pits. Of course it would be better if they were not there, but the good news is they are not getting bigger. I think they actually got smaller. I have also had some in my chest and collar bone area and there was none there this time so that is good. My count was a little higher than I had hoped it would be. 33.3 of which 27.2 is lymphocytes. A normal lymphocyte count is 1.2 to 3.2. This count is actually the highest it has been since October 2000. The good news is it is not drastically higher. Four months ago my counts were 29.5 and 24.2. I asked her if it could be from the recent heat wave and she said definitely yes. She is not concerned and still wants to see me every four months. That is the deal so hopefully no more reports on my health until December. Thank you everyone for your support! Tom Metz |

Alumni Email Update: The following alumni have either been found or their emails updated on the roster page. Please update your address books. Dave Pataky Dave and his wife, Pia, had a baby girl, Emma, on December 31, 2001. Dave said he thought he didn't get any sleep in college, now he gets even less and hardly ever gets to check his email anymore either. Updated MIA: Since we've found quite a few alumni over the past week due to everyone's help, we though it would be a good idea to consilidate our list of MIA to the known remaining MIAs. Let us know if there's more names to add to the list. Susan Baka Lorelei Boggs (she's married now and goes by Lori) Jim Casey Maura Coleman Kevin Cooke Dusty Copenhaven (?) Alumni Email Update: The following alumni have either been found or their emails updated on the roster page. Please update your address books. Gerald "Gerry" Ryan His whole life he's been called "Gerald", but because Coach McCorkle called him "Gerry" the first time they met, everyone affiliated with TSC XC and Track calls him "Gerry", nobody else does. Gerald is in his 4th year of teaching US History and 5th year of coaching track (field people) at Nutley High School (NJ). He says it's strange teaching/coaching in the school he went to. Additional Alumni Found: Steve Dubin |

Alumnus Found: Brendan Jacobs It's a girl!: Brendan and Tracy Jacobs had a baby girl, Sierra, on March 17, 2002. Sierra weighed in at exactly 8lbs. Alumni Mile: There have already been a few responses to the alumni mile at the Lion Invitational on April 27. So far the team for those planning to run are Dave Small, Bill White, and Glenn Fuchs. We should get as many alumni to run this together as a pack for a sign of strong alumni support. Alumni Gathering: There have been several emails regarding alumni gatherings. The Lion Invitational would be an ideal opportunity to do something soon, or we can even plan on meeting up at Summer Splash/Bar A in June. Glenn Fuchs may be able to swing something at his house during Summer Splash/Bar A weekend because he lives the next town over from Belmar. If there are any volunteers to plan something official please email Glenn Fuchs or Dan Magee. Although it's way far away, there is also the Cross Country championship in the fall when we could plan something. |

Alumnus Found: Maureen Cullen Update First alumni contest winner: Ron "Spoons" Kaplan has officially won this contest by telling us his weight is 172 lbs. Someone's got some junk in the trunk! Spoons has also informed us that he is in better shape than most of us alumni and could easily smoke us all in the Alumni Mile at the Lions Invitational later this month. Good luck! New alumni contest: Ron "Spoons" Kaplan has announced the next alumni contest to be Guess Pat McStravick's weight. To win a cool prize package, please e-mail Ron "Spoons" Kaplan with your guess for Pat's current weight. Email Update: The alumni email roster has been edited. All alumni who haven't responded to the last mass email have been deemed MIA and have been deleted until we know we have a current email address for them. Dan Magee is personally overseeing the verification of all existing and new emails we receive. This not an April Fool's joke! Old News is now archived: News from before March 25 has been archived. To view news older than March 25 click on the Archived News link at the bottom of the page. |
