"Alright, let’s get out of here," Taylor whispered into Mira’s ear. About 10 toasts were made including Taylor’s and Zac’s making Diana cry. During the chaos of eating cake and drinking champagne, Taylor and Mira managed to sneak into the hallway.
"Are we leaving?" Mira asked.
"Yep," Taylor said taking her hand as they walked down the hall.
Once they made it outside, Mira took off her shoes and carried them as she followed Taylor to Isaac’s car. "Okay, is it cool with Isaac if we take his car?"
"Yes. I’ve alreayd checked. Plus he won’t be needing it anyway," Taylor said shutting her door and climbing in on the driver’s side.
"Are you okay to drive?" She asked running her fingers through the side of his hair.
"Yeah, I’m good. I promise," he assured as they left the reception hall.
"Oh my gosh. I’m so used to tucking your hair behind your ear," Mira smiled.
"Are you sad?" He laughed.
"No way. I love your haircut. You’re gorgeous."
"Well thanks."
After driving about half an hour in an unfamiliar area to Mira, Taylor turned down a gravel road.
"What are we doing?" She asked eagerly.
"Spending a few days at the lake house," he told her.
"Are you serious?" She asked.
"Yes ma’am," he said pulling into the driveway of the house.
"Oh my gosh," she said getting out the car. "This is so nice. Is this yours?"
"Well it’s the family’s," he said taking two bags out of the back seat.
"Awesome. How much fun are we gonna have?" Mira smiled.
"I know."
"Did you pack stuff for me?" she asked as they walked up to the front porch.
"Yep," he said holding up a bag.
"Taylor - I’m so impressed." She reached up and kissed his cheek as he unlocked the door.
"But hopefully you won’t be needing much of the clothes," he said in her ear as they walked into the house.
"Ooh, that sounds good to me," Mira laughed and wrapped her arms around his body. "Wow," she sighed looking around the nicely decorated living room. "This is such a rad house." She went through the kitchen to the french doors that led to the back and opened them. "Oh, how cool."
Taylor laughed and took off his shoes and socks before coming up behind her.
"Hot tub," she smiled up at him. "Very nice. And you have a boat."
"Yep. We’ll take it out for a spin," he said wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Oh my gosh, could we just like, live here for the rest of the summer?"
"I wish." He kissed the side of her head.
"You are amazing," she said turning around to face him. She placed her lips on his and he gently sucked on her bottom lip before pulling away. "And I hope to say that again later tonight," she said quietly.
"Mm, woman," he said looking down her body. "I don’t think I can wait until later tonight." He scooped her up in his arms and took her back inside.
"Taylor," she squealed as he carried her through the house. "Where are we going?"
"The best part - check it out." He opened the door to the master bedroom and inside, the room was dark lit by a couple candles spread throughout the room.
"Oh my goodness," Mira smiled as Taylor set her down.
"I thought rose petals on the bed would be over the top so I didn’t go there. But I hope this isn’t too cheesy." She turned back to look at him.
"Not at all," she said coming over to him. "So is this where you went during the reception?"
"Mm hmm," he nodded.
"God," she breathed. "Thank you."
"My pleasure," he said just above a whisper before leaning in to kiss her. Her hands ran up his chest and around his neck. He pulled her closer by her waist lifting up the bottom of her dress slightly. Her fingers went to the buttons on his shirt, undoing them and sliding the shirt off his shoulders without breaking the kiss. She then went to his pants, unbuttoning them and gently pushing them to the ground. He stepped out of them and kicked them to the side as his hands roamed her hips.
They made their way to the bed and kneeled on it facing eachother. Mira pulled him by his t-shirt closer to her and his hands went around the back of her thighs. She slid his t-shirt off his body and tossed in in the growing pile of Taylor’s clothes so he was left only in his boxers. He reached up and carefully unzipped the dress before lifting it off her body and tossing it on the floor. She went back to kissing him and her hands ran over his bare chest. He trailed his fingers down her back causing her to shiver.
"Wait," Taylor breathed pulling away. "Did you wanna hang that up?"
Mira gave him a confused look. "What?"
"Your dress? Did you wanna hang it up?"
She stared at him for a few seconds before she started laughing. "Don’t worry about it," she smiled before kissing him again. She held her hand to his chest and gently pushed herself away.
"Sorry," she laughed stepping off the bed. "Yeah - I need to hang it up." She picked up her dress off the floor and opened the closet to pick out a hanger. "I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry," she said hanging it up. "Or it’ll bother be all night."Taylor watched her with an amused face.
"Okay," she said getting back on the bed. He laughed and grabbed her around the waist pulling her to him as he reached up her back to unhook her bra. He pulled at it snapping it against her back. "Ow," she giggled.
"Oh God," he placed his forehead against hers. "I’m sorry."
"It’s okay. You want me to do it?" She offered.
"No, I can do it. Hold on." He looked over her shoulder examining the hooks in her bra while she waited on him.
"Taylor-"
"No, I almost have it. Here, let me see," he said getting off the bed and standing behind her.
"Sweetie, you have to pinch it together and then slide the hooks out," she explained.
"I know how to do it. It just takes me a while," he said finally getting it undone. "There, see?" He said letting the straps slide off her shoulders and climbed back on the bed.
She laughed at him and wrapped her arms around his neck as he fell onto his back bringing her on top of him. He rolled on top of her and couldn’t help but let his eyes roam her body. The slightest tinge of self consciousness fell over her as she realized Taylor hadn’t seen her like this since she was 17. Her hands went around his waist and up his back and he gently sucked on her skin. She reached up and pulled the covers down so they could eventually slide underneath them.
By the time they made it under the covers, every item of clothing was tossed on the floor or lost somewhere underneath the sheets. Taylor pushed himself above her breathlessly and looked down. They both took deep breaths trying to slow down before things were over too quickly.
"Are you nervous?" Taylor asked.
Mira looked up at him and traced her index finger down his jawbone. "No," she smiled. "Are you?"
"Mm hmm," he nodded.
"Aww," she laughed softly. "Don’t be," she raised her knees on either side of him. "I love you," she whispered.
"I love you too," he whispered back before lowering himself onto her.
*******
Taylor exhaled a shakey breath as he rested his forehead on Mira’s sweat dampened chest.
"Taylor?" Mira said quietly, running her hands up his back. She felt his stomach pressed against hers as his breathing increased.
"Hmm?"
"Look at me," she told him.
He lifted his head up and their deep breaths matched each others.
"You okay?"
He nodded, his moist lips slightly parted and a few stray hairs fell across his forehead.
"Okay," she said running her fingers through his hair. "You just seem really quiet."
"I don’t need to say anything," he said just above a whisper and placed his lips on her neck.
*******
"Is it okay if I just like, sleep right here?" Taylor asked with his face resting on Mira’s stomach as it rose up and down with her deep breaths. "Cause I like, can’t move."
Mira stared up at the ceiling as she rested her arm across her forehead.
"Mira?"
"Uh huh," she breathed out.
Taylor laughed and slowly slid up beside her. "Did we just do that?"
"Uh huh," she answered.
"Oh my God, that was out of control," he said.
"I knew you’d be good at that," Mira told him turning over to face him. "I just didn’t know how good."
"How long have you been thinking about me in bed?" Taylor smiled.
"I’m not telling," she grinned back.
He slid his hand around her waist and rolled towards her resting his forehead against her chest. He placed a few kisses on her collarbone and closed his eyes. "Listen, I wanna say something," Taylor said.
"What’s that?" She asked brushing her fingers through his hair.
"I’m sorry if I ever hurt you and I feel really bad about the way I handled some things," he said.
"What do you mean?"
"Like, that night on the driveway when you kissed me and you were telling me how you felt and I acted like a total asshole," he explained. "I feel bad about that because I didn’t know what to say."
"It’s okay," she assured him. "It’s over with."
"Yeah but for those minutes when you had no idea what I was thinking- I just..."
"Taylor, it’s okay," she let out a small laugh. "I promise. Hell, you weren’t expecting me to dish all that out on you. I expected worse, trust me."
"Well I’m sorry," he told her.
"Why are you telling me all this now?" She asked.
"I just don’t want to ever hurt you. You mean too much to me," he told her.
"Aww, you’re all sweet," she smiled.
"Yeah I know," he said rolling over on his back. After a few seconds of silence they both started laughing at nothing.
"We’re so weird," she said.
