"Hey," Taylor greeted when Allison opened the door to Mira’s apartment.
"Hey," she smiled back standing in the doorway.
"How’s she doing?" he asked.
"Not too bad. She’s in her room if you wanna check on her," Allison said opening the door wider to let him in.
Taylor walked across the living room and knocked on Mira’s bedroom door.
"Come in," she called. He opened the door and found her sitting at her desk reading.
"Hey there," Taylor said gently.
"Hey," she said. "What’s up?"
"Not much. I just wanted to see how you’re doing."
"Fine," she nodded still concentrating on her book. "Managed to stop crying about an hour ago," she said looking up at him giving a small smile.
"It’s gonna be okay," he said sitting down on her bed.
She nodded again staring at his shoes.
"So I see you did some shopping," Taylor said noting the multitude of bags piled on her bed.
"Yeah," she laughed. "Just a bit."
"You bought all of that today?" he asked.
"Mm hmm. Taylor, I spent so much money. You wouldn’t believe."
"Uh oh. How much did you spend?"
Mira slowly shook her head and closed her eyes. "See that little Sephora bag?" she pointed.
"Yeah," he picked up the bag and looked inside.
"Over 100 dollars on make-up alone. I think I have problems," she said joining him on the bed.
"Damn girl," he said dumping all the make up on the bed. He picked up a tube of clear lip gloss. "This was all 100 dollars?"
"Yep." She picked up one of the tubes of lipstick and took the cap off twisting the bottom up and down.
"So do you feel better?" he asked.
"A little," she laughed. "But anyway, how are things with Natasha?"
"Good," he nodded.
"Cool. Got any big Valentine’s Day plans?"
"I’m not sure yet. I don’t wanna make a big deal, ya know?" he asked.
"Yeah."
Saturday morning, the day after Valentine’s day, Mira walked over to Taylor’s apartment building and ran into Natasha leaving.
"Oh hey," Natasha smiled crossing her arms over her chest as she stood in the cold.
"Natasha, hey. How are you?" Mira greeted. Natasha was wearing a long black dress with slits up both sides and tiny spaghetti straps. She had a black leather coat on over it and high heel black shoes.
"Good," she said shifting her weight between both legs. "How about you?"
"I’m fine," Mira managed to smile. "So...big night with Taylor last night?"
"Yeah," Natasha beamed. "He’s so sweet. He made me dinner and everything."
"Aww. That’s cute," Mira smiled.
"And look," Natasha said holding out her wrist. "He gave me this too."
"Wow," Mira breathed as she gently stuck her finger underneath the silver bracelet. "That’s gorgeous."
"Yeah, he’s a great guy."
"Yeah. Well look I’ll let you go cause you look cold," Mira told her.
"Okay," Natasha laughed. "I’ll see you later." She left and Mira slipped inside the open door heading up to Taylor’s room.
"Morning," Mira said when Taylor opened the door. He was showered and dressed in khaki corduroys and an orange sweater.
"Hey there," he said letting her inside. She was in a pair of jeans and a Columbia University sweatshirt.
"I just saw Natasha leaving," she smiled.
"Oh," Taylor grinned. "Yeah she spent the night here."
"Cool. So last night went well I assume?"
"Mm hmm," he nodded leading her to his room.
"That’s good," she sighed falling back on his bed.
"What’d you do last night?" He asked sitting backwards at his desk chair facing her.
"Not much. Went out to a bar with some friends from school. It’s okay, I hate Valentine’s Day anyway."
"You wanna hang out today or something?" He asked.
"I suppose," she shrugged throwing her arm over her eyes.
"Come on," he said getting off his chair and crawling beside her. "Let’s go... to the park," he suggested.
"It’s freezing," she told him.
"Okay... let’s go...to the movies."
"There’s nothing good out."
He sighed and laid down beside her. "You wanna go get a bagel?"
She uncovered her face and turned to look at him.
"Come on," he grinned. "You know you want one."
She started laughing. "Alright," she said getting up.
