Zac moved his hand down her waist. “God, I’ve missed you.”

“I know. It’s been all of what, four days?” She grinned.

Zac brushed his lips against the underside of her jaw. “Four days too long,” he said in her ear.

Ruby closed her eyes and gently pushed him away. “My room,” she said leading him out of the living room. He kicked his shoes off and followed her. She let her short robe slide off her shoulders onto the floor before she got to the staircase.

They made it to her room and Ruby immediately pressed her lips against Zac’s as his back pushed the door shut. She hungrily searched his mouth with her tongue as her hands pulled his shirt off him. She unbuttoned his shorts and shoved them down. He stepped out of them backing her up towards the bed.

“Wow,” Ruby breathed collapsing on top of Zac’s sweaty body.

“Yeah,” Zac agreed breathing heavily. “That about sums it up.”

“Oh my God,” she moaned slowly rolling off of him.

“That was insane,” he said covering his face with his hands.

Ruby laughed and turned on her side to face him. “You’re so amazing,” she said brushing her hand down his arm.

“So are you,” he said rolling on his side.

“Oh man,” she stretched. “You hungry?”

“Starving.”

“Pizza?” She asked looking over at him.

“Definitely,” he approved.

“And see this one here,” Ruby said drawing her index finger up Zac’s palm.

Zac leaned forward across from Ruby while the both sat Indian style on her bed. “Mm hmm.”

“That’s your love line. And the way it branches off means that you’ll have many failed relationships until you find your true love,” she explained while gently massaging his hand.

Zac looked up at her. “Really?”

She lifted her head to meet his eyes. “I have no idea,” she smiled.

Zac laughed before meeting her halfway for a kiss. The doorbell interrupted causing Zac and Ruby to break apart.

“Pizza’s here,” she said getting off the bed.

“I thought I was the only lucky one who gets to see you like that,” Zac smiled leaning back against the headboard.

Ruby looked down at her bra and underwear. “Oh. That’d be a problem.” She picked up Zac’s blue t-shirt from the floor and put it on as she went down the stairs.

“Darling,” she called closing the front door. “Let’s eat down here.”

“Coming,” he replied getting up. He slipped on his khaki shorts and jogged downstairs.

“My favorite episode,” Ruby said after swallowing a bite of pepperoni pizza. “Is the one where Jessie gets hooked on caffeine pills and she’s supposed to sing with Kelly and Lisa.

“Yeah,” Zac laughed. “And Zack comes in and Jessie’s like ‘I’m so excited... I’m so scared’,” he impersonated Jessie from Saved by the Bell.

“Yes,” she pointed to him. “That’s hilarious.”

“What about the one where they have to start a business? And they make those friendship bracelets,” Zac explained before taking a sip of his Dr. Pepper.

“And then Slater and them leave and start making buddy bands?” Ruby laughed.

“Buddy bands,” Zac laughed. “That would have to rank up there in my top three favorite episodes.”

“I hear ya,” she smiled. “Hey,” she said pulling her feet in the chair with her.

“Hey,” he grinned.

“Play something for me.”

“Sure,” he agreed standing up. He tossed his napkin down on his empty paper plate and went into the living room. “You wanna go in your room?” He asked picking up his guitar case.

“Yeah,” she said leading him upstairs.

“You want a song you know or an original song?” He asked situating his guitar on his lap as he sat on the bed.

“Something you wrote,” she said bringing her knees to her chest.

“Alright,” he smiled. “Just to let you know, this is a little weird.”

“Why? You’ve played for me before,” she said.

“I know. It kinda makes me nervous,” he confessed.

“Well don’t play if it makes you nervous,” she said running her hand down his arm.

“No, I’ll play for you. Only cause you inspire me,” he smiled looking up at her.

She smiled and rested her chin on her knees while he played. Halfway through the song she got up off the bed to retrieve her sketch pad and pencils. She sat back at the foot of the bed and laid her sketch pad on her lap. She looked up at him through a few loose strands of brown hair hanging over her eye.

Zac looked over at her. “What are you doing?” He sang interrupting his song..

“Keep going. Don’t look at me,” she told him.

Zac laughed and continued his song while Ruby drew him. “Let me see,” Zac said after he finished.

Ruby showed what she had done so far which consisted of a rough sketch of his profile looking down.

“Wow. How’d you do that?” He asked.

Ruby smiled. “Oh my God, let me paint you,” she raised her eyebrows.

“Paint me?”

“Yeah. Like, pose for me. Please?” She asked getting off the bed.

“I don’t know. What do you want me to do?” He asked nervously.

“You don’t have to get naked or anything,” she said with her hands on her hips. “Let’s see,” she retreived her easle from the corner of her room and sat it in front of her. “Just sit like that.”

Zac looked down at himself, shirtless and holding his guitar in his lap. “Alright.”

She brought her desk chair over to the easle and set up her paints. “So, I’m only gonna do this right here,” she explained pointing to his right hand and the lower part of the guitar.

“So I can’t move?” Zac asked.

“Not that part. But you can talk or whatever,” she said taking Zac’s t-shirt off her body and sitting down. “Alrighty,” she lowered the easle to her level and began to sketch a rough outline on the blank canvas. “This is gonna be rad.”

“So Ruby.”

“So Zachary,” she replied studying his hand.

“Do you always paint in your underwear?” He smiled.

Ruby laughed. “Maybe.”

“Well then, I should come watch you paint more often.”
