"Hi. Uchida at your service. Last time, Eckanmon lunged at us. Our Digimon swatted him out of the way. He then attacked them. Sora's Biyomon flew up just in time and used her Spiral Twister. That got Eckanmon real mad. He turned around and used his Snake Fang Strike on all of us. Dracomon digivolved in the nick of time and made that cowardly snake run home crying, 'Darkspectramon!'"
Matt sighed. He was over at Izzy's house, and so was Tai. Joe couldn't come. But they were stuck with Mimi instead. Well, T.K. was there. He sighed again and placed his hands behind his head.
"Izzy, I thought you were supposed to help us study for the test tomorrow, too!" Tai attempted to remind Izzy.
"It's no use," Matt commented. That caused Tai to glare at him.
"Yeah," Mimi agreed. "When he devotes his attention to something, he ignores everything else. I should know!" she added.
"Yeah, you're right," Tai complied. That surprised Matt, who's eyes grew buggy. Tai laughed when he saw Matt's face. "Don't worry, Matt," Tai assured him, "I would never agree with you! I was agreeing with Mimi."
"Aha!" Izzy cried. "I've got it! Prodigious!"
"Got what, Izzy?" T.K. asked.
"A way to get back home!" Izzy answered.
Startling everyone, they all lost their balance, including the Digimon. Tai quickly regained his balance angrily. "We were supposed to be studying!" he roared.
"Tai, don't forget, that's a good thing. We won't have to hide our Digimon from our parents," Matt said.
"Hmmm," Tai thought and scratched his head, "that is a good point." Matt winced. He would have to get used to Tai agreeing with him.
Mimi scratched her head. "Shouldn't we call the others and tell them?" she asked.
"Yeah!" and Tai dashed to the phone. Just as he was about to pick it up, he saw everyone staring at him. "Ummmm, could I use the phone?"
Izzy shrugged. "Sure. I don't see why not," he replied.
"Thanks Izzy," Tai said.
"No problem-o," smiled Izzy.
Tai quickly dialed the Ishida residence. He cold hear noise coming from the other side.
"What are you doing, Miki?"
"Phone call. I'll have to get it."
"Okay then."
"Ishida Residence," a voice said.
"Hi, Miki," Tai answered.
"Who is it?" another voice asked. Tai heard a hand covering up the receiver.
"It's Tai," Miki replied.
"Oh. Okay then. Nobody important."
That set Tai fuming. He then heard a bed creaking as Miki sat down.
"So, what do you want, Tai?" she questioned.
"I was calling to tell you that we figured out a way to get back," Tai replied.
"That's great!" exclaimed Miki. "Let me tell the others." He heard Miki again clamping a hand over the receiver. "Guess what! Tai and the others found out a way to get back to the Digi-world!"
"That's wonderful!" Tai recognized Sora's voice. She then got serious. "You better tell them about Darkspectramon."
"Yeah," Uchida agreed.
"I have something to tell you, too," Miki stated.
"What?" Tai inquired.
"There's a new evil Digimon! She's Myotismon's sister and her name is Darkspectramon and she's coming over there at this moment!" blurted Miki.
"What?!" Tai chorused with the others, who had also heard. Suddenly, the phone went dead as a burst of icy air filled the room. "Miki?" Tai asked nervously. "Miki? Oh no, the phone went dead!"
"That's right, digi-brat," a cold voice said. She materialized in front of them. "I am Darkspectramon, whom your little friend warned you about. Prepare to be annihilated!"
"I don't think so!" Agumon shouted. "Agumon, digivolve to...Greymon!"
"Yeah, alright Greymon!" Tai cheered.
"Hahahahah! You couldn't outwit and destroy Myotismon, and you think you can kill me? I don't think so! Black Thunderstorm!" In Darkspectramon's hand, a ball of black lightning appeared. She threw it at Greymon and it stretched into a whip that crackled. "Ha!" she screamed in triumph as it knocked Greymon out the window!
"Greymon, no!" Tai yelled. She began whipping all the Digimon and the 4 of the Digi-Destined. But, she missed Gabumon and the lightning advanced towards Matt!
"Matt, watch out!" Gabumon cautioned. "Gabumon, digivolve to...Garurumon!"
"You can do it Garurumon!" T.K. encouraged.
"Mmm," Darkspectramon commented as she flew out of the way of Garurumon's Howling Blaster. "I am wasting my time with you Digi-Wimps. Starkaimon, to me!"
A small digimon that looked like a cross between a girl and a bat came into view in a window. "Yes, Lady darkspectramon," she bowed.
"Occupy these Digi-Doomed for me. I have better things to do," Darkspectramon ordered and vanished.
"Yes, of course milady," she complied and looked up menacingly at the boys, Mimi, and their Digimon. Suddenly, she appeared to vanish. Garurumon looked at Greymon, but didn't see him as himself. Instead Garurumon saw Starkaimon! He charged at Greymon. Greymon also thought that Garurumon was Starkaimon and they battled fiercely. Patamon, Palmon, Tentomon, Tai, T.K., Matt, Mimi, and Izzy watched as the two Digimon battle each other.
"What are you doing?!" they all yelled out to the Digimon.
"Destroying Starkaimon!" Garurumon and Greymon chorused, but, of course, it didn't sound that way to them. Each thought the other was saying, "Destroying Garurumon/Greymon!"
This caused them to battle harder. Starkaimon laughed gleefully. "Stupid Digi-Brats," she commented.
"Nova Blast!" Greymon yelled as Garurumon yelled, "Howling Blaster!"
Suddenly, Garudamon appeared in front of the two, slapping her hands over their mouths. What they other two saw was not Garudamon, but Myotismon. Garurumon and Greymon started advancing towards Garudamon. "It is me, Garurumon and Greymon," Garudamon said.
"I know it's you," they both stated at the same time.
"What are they doing?" Tentomon wondered. "Are they going to attack Garudamon?"
"It looks that way," Izzy confirmed. "But why is Garudamon, not Birdramon here?"
"Good point," Matt agreed.
Tai didn't hear any of this because he was too upset. "Greymon, Garurumon, why are you fighting each other?" Tai cried out, tears in his eyes. "You have to destroy Starkaimon, not Garudamon!"
"Tai, if anybody can help them, it's Garudamon," Matt placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"No no no!" Tai screamed and jumped down off of the apartment!
"Tai, no!" Matt shouted.
"What is he doing?!" Mimi exclaimed. "Is he nuts?"
"TAI!" they all yelled. Greymon looked up and saw Tai falling towards him.
"Tai!" Greymon shouted. He thrust out a claw and caught him. The others sighed in relief.
"Look!" yelled Tentomon. He pointed towards Garurumon, who was speeding towards Greymon and Tai. Garurumon apparently thought Starkaimon was holding Tai captive.
"You let him go!" Garurumon commanded. "Howling Blaster!" he shouted.
"NO!" Garudamon screamed and jumped n front of Tai and Greymon. Garurumon's sure-kill hit her full force. "Aaaa!" Garudamon fell toward the ground as the illusion around her of Myotismon vanished. She digivolved back to a badly hurt Yokomon. Garurumon gasped as all the illusions disappeared, showing a wounded Greymon holding an unconcious Tai.
"No," Garurumon whispered as he digivolved back to Gabumon. Greymon did the same. Uchida, Sora, and Miki rode up on Tigresiamon. Sora leaped from her back and ran to Yokomon.
"Yokomon," she whispered, caressing the flower on Yokomon's head.
"I am truly sorry," Gabumon apologized sincerely. "I thought she was Myotismon. I am very sorry, Sora."
Tai stirred and his eyes fluttered. "Tai!" she shouted, obviously very worried. Sora dashed to him and held his head in her arms. "Come on Tai, wake up," she encouraged with tears threatening to fall. Matt, Miki, T.K., Uchida, Izzy, Mimi, Dracomon, Patamon, Tigresiamon, Tentomon, and Palmon watched on. Miki hugged her big brother as her eyes watered. T.K. also hugged Matt. Mimi held onto Palmon as Patamon balanced on T.K.'s head. Izzy was kneeling next to Tentomon, who had a claw up his "mouth."
Tai's eyes opened and he looked into Sora's. "Hey," he said weakly. "Look what the Digimon brought in."
"Oh, Tai," Sora whimpered as she brought his head close to hers.
"Hey, don't cry," Tai pleaded, attempting to sit up. Sora sniffled as Tai wiped away her tears. "I'll be alright."
Sora sobbed into his hair. "I have a question for you, Sora," stated Tai.
Sora looked at him and nodded. "Mmhm."
"Why did Garudamon come and not Birdramon?"
"Because I love you, Tai," she answered.
"Oh, so that's it."
"Yes, it is, Tai."
"Well," and Tai caressed her cheek, "I'm glad you care."
"Tai?"
"Yeah?"
"Kiss me."
And with that, Tai and Sora melted into a divine kiss.
"How touching," a chilling voice sneered. Starkaimon appeared next to Sora and Tai.
"You!" Gabumon snarled.
"You are so alert, Gabumon! And yet, you fell for my little trap," she taunted.
"You caused this to happen! Blue Blaster!" roared Gabumon as he lunged towards Starkaimon. It hit her, causing her to bellow in pain.
And as she disappeared, Starkaimon threatened, "You'll pay for that, Gabumon!"
"And stay away!" Gabumon called after her and he stuck out his tongue. All of sudden, Tai fell limp in Sora's arms.
"Tai, no, NO!" she screamed. Sora cried out her heart into Tai's hair. "Tai, no, no," whispered Sora through her tears. Miki was sniffling into Matt's shirt as he smoothed his younger sister and brother's hair. Uchida clung to a crying Izzy. Mimi wailed out loud as Sora screamed.
"Tai, NOOOOOO!"
