it's 2006

It was three years ago this month, that I began to write journal entries on this website. It's been a very big three years for me. I would like to thank everyone who has read some or most or all of this. I'm not going to get all retrospective on you though, not now. Maybe for the five year...

Alright, yes I did survive the ride into 2006. I spent the first half of the month tracking a new solo album, an after hours-listen with headphones-while you go to sleep on the train-kind of record. It's called "haystack needles." In a few weeks after Barry and I are finished mastering it, it will be availible for free download by clicking on the link at the bottom of the main page.

And while there is nothing to hear now, I guess I'll go into why I named it what I did. In late 2003 early 2004, I began to have a serious song writing dryspell. I even believed I was finished for life. But determined to not give up, I went looking through my imagination anyway for new songs, it was like looking for a needle in a haystck, they were so few and far between (and small). Some of the songs also took on a "elliot smith feel" when I taught myself how to do vocal doubling, so in tribute to his classic song, "needle in the hay" the record is in part named 'haystck needles' in tribute to the late, great mr. smith.

The songs were tracked using my studio at home, barry's microphones, and my analogue, 4-track machine. with the good mic and real time noise reduction, they sound great. warm like a light bulb after its been burning long into the night in a quiet room. please download and burn them as often as you want. i'll get em up as fast as i can.
