An abbreviated history of the TRP team

Your cheerful bloggers here at The Random Perspective are veterans of an almost ten-year friendship that has been nothing if not highly entertaining.  After meeting as juniors in high school through a mutual friend (whose memory we will not tarnish by pointing out her backstabbing and life-sucking acts, which, believe us, were many), Crissy became Ashley’s personal chauffer after school each day.  The friendship was cemented via a twelfth-grade AP English class which involved more giggling and note-passing than actual learning, but which finally resulted in college credit for both of us.

Ashley spent the four years after high school doggedly pursuing her undergraduate degree in Media Arts with an education minor while Crissy floundered about for two years before finally throwing in the towel on a college education.  Now, in 2003, Ashley has entered graduate school for Library and Information Science while Crissy has finally made the decision to spend the next two years finishing her BA in Mass Communications with a focus in Journalism.

Both of us are blissfully attached – Crissy, legally and Ashley, spiritually.

We share a fondness for all things edible, disagree [mostly] good-naturedly on political matters and spend as much time as humanly possible watching Friends (Crissy) and Sex and the City (Ashley).  We also have what are most likely extremely unhealthy obsessions with the (written) Harry Potter series, Wolverine, cheese, Ewan McGregor, Joey and Rachel (Crissy) and Carrie and Aidan (Ashley).

We don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, as we reside in different cities and lead hectic lives – well, Ashley’s life is pretty hectic, anyway – but we talk almost daily and lean heavily on each other for emotional support and witty commentary, which you will be lucky enough to share in by visiting this site.  No, no - don’t thank us.  Your undying affection is thanks enough.  Unless we think of something else we want from you.  Then you’ll be expected to pay up.  Immediately.
