Well the sun gonna shine in my back door some day
March winds gonna blow all my troubles away...

The Grateful Dead- "I Know You Rider"

*The Thirtieth*

I am now the proud mama of a brand new Didge. His god-parents are Haley and Paul the Aussies, his god-sis is Emily and his name is Una. So far, I am able to make funny sound that remind one of a disgruntled kangaroo or a constipated cow. Keep at it, baby!

Who loves the sun? Me me me! It doesn't even set until nine at night now!!! Still cold where we are, but that's alright, so long as we have the sun... I have moved into another house- my last move. The house is quite large, and quite quiet and quite empty in a way, but it is comfy. I live in another town called Rasio, or Reso på svenska and at least I can catch the buses again. Buses are cool now... Other than that, I am standing here, roasting in my mattress of a winter coat and feeling all happy cos, Ladies and Gentlemen, we have Mister Sun!....

*The Twenty Third*

Hello world... It's been lovely here, despite the fact that we're still freezing and the snow keeps coming down. No spring. I'm sad. Last night I went to my host mother's gig (she sings in a jazz band) with my friend (her father plays in the jazz band) and it was a stellar evening of relaxed entertainment. Tonight there is a party that I am half into going to, half into not going to. Oh- I never wrote about the party we had a week ago- my birthday party. T'was a splendid little shindig, anyway. Emily has returned to her home way up north and I miss her, even tho she's strange. (Wink.) I change families for the last time on Sunday--- Yah, I'm nervous. I hafta move to another town completely, but the woman I'm moving in with is really nice. She's a doctorate of psychology...

*The Seventeenth*

Happy St. Patrick's Day... Yesterday was my birthday and some crazy people actually remembered it, but others maybe didn't (a-hem). I had a good day, actually. We saw this mediocre film called "Traffic" last night and it nearly put us to sleep. Today, we're having a little shindig at my place, tho it ends a bit early (1 a.m.) than it would if circumstances were different- we're quite grateful all the same cos parties are fun and exchange students at parties are almost double fun... Emily is still here, typing up things beside me. She's a bit silent this morning, tho, so we won't bother her for more pearls of wisdom...

*The Fourteenth*

I am sitting here with the famous Emily Graham from... well, she's from Canada, but we won't hold that against her. Here- type something, Emily-Your town is big, ugly and dirty. At least we don't get hail way up in cool Raahe where all the action's happening. And of course there's Pattijoki, which is the heart of Finland since I live there. Yep, that's Emily Graham, famous for her... er... Canadianess. And her modesty. Now I'm going to tell you the truth about where she lives- which is, incidentally, in the BOONIES of Finland- in some forest or something. Population: 500. Her club hates her and they prolly hate me, too, for inviting her down here. Here, type something in Finnish, Em- Missa vessä on? Minulle on koira ja kissa! Menen kouluun Raahessa, mutta asun Pattijoella. Thank you. She just told us something about the toilet, a cat, a dog and something else. I don't know. She's prolly making all this stuff up. Anyway- that is the official word from Åbo, Finland...

*The Twelfth*

Had a very nice weekend. We went skiing in some place that is called Ell-i-vor-i or something. That's phonetic, mind you. I kinda taught another exchange student how to ski- she'd never been. I'm no ski magician or anything, but I'm not bad- and I remember the first times I went skiing I wanted to throw the skis off a mountain I hated them so much. But this girl was incredibly determined, which I admire... Ya hum... My birthday is in four days... Seventeen, babe. Not much happening at that age- just a midway point. A good number, no less... I guess we're having a party at my host family's house. We had one about a month ago and it went over nicely. It is a good house to have a party in. The rain is here- it is washing away the godawful winter! Not much else to report... Hope everyone is doing okay in their worlds...

*The Seventh*

Being that this is my month of birth, I chose sea green as the text. This is my favorite color, tho I much prefer Crayola's version than Angelfire's version. Hmmm... Haven't written much in a long time, it seems, but other than the small stuff, nothing else is new. I spoke with my family on this Sunday past, and found out that I am leaving on the first of July. That is in... a hundred and fifteen days or something. This month is going to go by very quickly, I think... lots of plans... Hmmm... oh- and I should mention that I have some friends called (and hopefully they will forgive me for mistakes with their spellings) Pia, Katariina, Riika, Alma, Maria and Jenni and they sometimes come on over and see what I have been doing with this site- and Kat thinks it is really intersting to see her name here and Pia wants her own little page, so maybe in the future there will be an addition to the Thoughts called "Beware of Pia" or something. Oh- but the point is that they are really nice girls and I just wanted to put their names on here for the whole of the universe to see. Thanks guys! :) Ya-hum... oh- I found some new music. Mogwai and who was the other... Arlo Guthrie! Oh man, I busted a gut listening to that guy and the Alice Masacree and that pickle song yesterday... Little things make me laugh, I guess, but he's great...
