It was a perfect day for rafting. The dam water had been released so that the water level was high. Bright sunshine, the air temperature being a warm 84 deg. farenhite and the water temperature a moderate 72 deg. What else would you ask for ??? The contenders for the rafting adventure were Nikhil, Nivedita, Sonal and Gopal.

Here is a panaromic view of the OCOEE river at the upper Olympic section. The river flows around the small hill in the center of the picture. Notice the rapids on the river. Also visible on the left side is the bridge.

White Water rafting can be very enjoying when taken in the true spirit of a water-lover. You can see in this picture the mood of all the rafters as we venture into the river to face the class III and IV rapids. The adventure commences with a steady flow on the river.

It was sheer excitment as we battled through the first rapid (class II). Gopal, Sonal and Nivedita made their feelings heard unanimously.Ocoee river: Middle Olympic section.

The force of the water made us drift onto one side of the river. We had to row hard to regain the direction.

This particular class IV rapid gave us a very tough time. The raft had to go down a slope and ride over the wave to get back onto the surface. In the process the waves lashed onto us ferociously while we navigated it back to the surface..Ocoee river: Middle section. Site for the 1990 Olympics.

The after effect of the Class IV rapid. As we travelled over the class iV rapid, back to safe waters, the excitement could be seen on everyones faces.

Now that we had already navigated through a couple of the rapids, what followed was not a surprise. This particular picture shows us being battered by the class IV rapid as we thoroughly enjoy the travel.Ocoee river: Middle section.
