The weather was not that inviting due to the after-effects of hurricane 'Ernesto' which had made landfall along the NC coasts 3 days ago and had travelled all the way up north until the Canadian border. The good part is, the rain had just about eased allowing the hordes of visitors to finally enjoy the location. The temperature was still a chill 54 deg. farenhite.

The plan was to take the 'Maid of the Mist' boat ride and then visit all of the viewing areas in the state park.

Here is a panaromic view of the American falls and the Horse shoe falls (part of Niagara falls) as viewed from the Observation tower. Also seen in the picture is the Canadian territory on the right hand side. The 'Maid of the Mist' boat can be seen in the water making its way towards the 'Horshoe' end of the falls.

Niagara falls: American + Horshoe falls.

We were all geared up and excited to visit the Niagara falls in daylight after witnessing the spectacular light show the previous night.

As we stand in the queue for the 'boat ride', wearing the blue 'Maid of the Mist' ponchos, there is sheer excitement. This picture has been digitally enhanced and given an 'oil paint' effect.

As we get settled in the boat on the top deck, we are treated to a full length view of the 'Rainbow bridge' connecting the US to the Canadian side.
