Coming out of Orem, Utah, The Used have come a long way to get where they are. The band overcame substance abuse, homelessness, and a place where the people are as close-minded as they come, to become one of the few bands to watch in my eyes. Writing awesome, heart-felt and up-beat songs, their debut cd offers everything. Witnessing a live performance personally, I realized they're bound to go places.*
"You're held down so long and told what to do," says drummer Branden Steineckert. "You're supposed to fit in this fuckin' mold all the time. Music is your one place to break out and just say "fuck it all, do what you want, be the person you are with no fuckin' rules."
