NEWS & THOUGHTS

December 25th, 2003

I certainly hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I did and I'm tired! Big THANX to everyone who made this year special. I'm looking forward to seeing You all in 2004...COME BACK SOON!

December 18th, 2003

Well, for all You folks who heard from me last nite, it was just a slight 'jurassic' incident! I'm already back up and running. I sure hope my wife gets over the time and cash I spent today on staying in touch with everyone.

December 13th, 2003:

Lot's of late-breaking news yesterday afternoon!
First, we learned of our first CD review on the self-titled May Day CD From: Be sure and check it out!

Second, we accepted an tentative booking at 516 Soundstage in downtown Shreveport for next Saturday evening. More on this later!

December 12th, 2003:

May Day had a great show at Noble savage in downtown Shreveport last night. Apparantly it was the last scheduled booking for us in 2003 so we took the opportunity to showcase some added covers along with new material from our follow up CD due out in 2004. As always it was good to see several Shreveport area musicians as well some friendly "SAVAGE" patrons. See Ya soon!

December 8th, 2003:

Has it really been that long? Damn, how time flies! It's nice to slow down a little but I miss all You folks. Have no fear, as soon as the holidays are over and done with, I will be back out in full force. There is lot's of new news to tell. You'll just have to wait because I'm working on several new concepts for MMC. Please keep checking back regularly for new bells and whistles!

October 27th, 2003:

Monday is finally here and I feel somewhat recovered from quite a busy weekend. Here's the rundown: 5 shows, 5 cities, 2 states, 2 days!

Fri. 8pm:

May Day traveled to the mecca of Pittsburg, TX for a show at The Coffee Cup. I would like to give big THANX to Gus and Janet for having us there. They have a great place and and some really nice patrons. We will tentatively return there for a show the second week of November.

Sat. 10am:

May Day performed at The Oil and Gas Blast in my home town of Carthage, TX. We opened for several other great acts and had to leave relatively quickly so I didn't get a chance to say "Hi" to everyone I needed to. I would, however, like to say THANX to all who came out and supported us that day!

Sat. 1pm:

May Day opened at Diamond Bessie's, former home of the MaconMusiC Showcase. We were proud to be a part of a great charity show that benefited area burn victims. This is an ongoing annual show that You should come be a part of each year. Not just for us but for the cause it represents. Once again big THANX to all!

Sat. 3:30pm:

Despite the bad weather and a quick pitstop at some 'Last Chance' gas station in who knows where, we arrived in Gilliam, LA for Chimpstock 2003. Originally, Walter had three stages set up for a number of acts to perform that day. However, due to the rain, the show was diminished to one covered stage. When we arrived, we ran into several other performers who were awaiting their chance to perform. As Jim and I watched the band that was performing we discussed the fact that we should perhaps give up our spot so that other acts could perform, after all, we had several shows that day. Our feelings weren't hurt at all when Walter suggested the same. This was another great cause and we are proud to have been invited even if we didn't get to perform that day.

Sat. 10pm:

Jim and I took the stage at The Noble Savage in downtown Shreveport, LA to perform two songs for the opening of Jim's latest project 'Days on End'. There was a torrential downpour going on outside, but a lot of people came out anyway. Sef Verela has a great Tavern in the heart downtown Shreveport and we hope to return there soon! Once again, THANX to all for packing that place and enjoying what we do. Not only did we see a lot of patrons there, we were happy to see numerous local musicians come out and check out the show.

Sun. 1:30am

Weary and bedraggled, we started our journey home early in the morning. A caravan of musicians and loved ones whom had spent a great day of music and festivities. We were very close to home when some idiot in a fawn colored Ford pick-up decided that the yield sign at the Estes Parkway exit meant absolutely nothing, Luckily, Jim got the feeling that this guy wouldn't stop. As we watched this person speed recklessly through the intersection, we felt pretty lucky that we had made it this far with no tragedies. I guess in a way we owe it all to the Blessed St. Christopher key rings that our booking agent, Alexis LeBlanc, had given to us to keep us safe in our travels that day! Anyway, we are all home safely now.

We would like to thank all for coming out and catching a great day of music. Hope to see You very soon!

October 22nd, 2003:

Well, here it is, the busiest week of the year so far. I will be taking part in 8 shows over the next 4 days including festivals, restaurants, benefits, coffee shops, radio spots and clubs. You can find out more by visiting the "MMC Events" page. That pretty much means I will definately be having a day of rest this Sunday.

All this would not be possible without careful planning, not only on our behalf, but also our busy friend Alexis LeBlanc of "Texas Rose Booking". Wait, there is more! We would also like to give credit to all the people who are in charge of organizing the upcoming shows for taking the time to check out what we have to offer. You didn't really think that I would forget probably the most important folks. YOU, the fans! Without people like You we would probably just be broke, unemployed, homeless musicians. Please wish us and all other local entertainers luck in our travels!

October 20th, 2003:

OK, it's been a while. I just happened to have a thought for all You folks. Music is the only thing that keeps me sane these days. I'm not the most gifted musician on the face of the planet, but, I try my damndest to find a way to give all I can back to all You people who have shown that You are looking for something different in entertainment. You all have given me the joy of being an entertainer. I appreciate it more than You will ever know.

"Texas Music" has taken a terrible turn here lately! I guess I would have to admit that even I lost sight of who I am musically. It's about time that I got back to being me. After all, if You can't do it on a tailgate by a campfire, You just can't do it!

October 6th, 2003:
