The first time that I saw Killing Heidi play was as the support band for Placebo's gig at the Hi-Fi bar in Melbourne. There was a huge buzz about them at that time with their new single Weir doing amazingly well on radio. Since then I have been to see them one other time at the Adelaide UniBar, and also at a free acoustic gig in the mall.

There is a great vibe when they play live. The songs become a lot heavier, and the melody's seem a lot funkier. Seeing the way that Ella stalks and bounces around the stage is always a sight that also makes the live experience more entertaining. They like to get the crowd enjoying the music as much as they are.

Initially KH were just sister and brother, Ella and Jesse Hooper. They were the duo who won Triple J's unearthed competition for their area with the sing Kettle. Ella was only 13 and Jess 15 at that time. Now they have 2 more members and are a full band.

Killing Heidi have had enormous success with their singles and not surprisingly when their debut album 'Reflector' was released it went straight to #1 in the Australian charts.

KH are currently touring Australia for the last time before they head off to the USA once again to try and break the into the overseas market.
