"Tom The Punter" first appeared on the scene in the late '80s. Being a big fan of rock and indie pop, he showed his appreciation of the music through endless nights out watching and experiencing the great talent that was the Sydney music scene. Never missing a show, from the Hummingbirds to the Plunderers to You Am I, he was always there, and always easy to find, for he towered above the crowds. With long hair and a drink in both hands, he was simply know by everyone as "Tom The Punter".
In the early 90's, Tom joined together with his friends Nic, Alison and John to form Godstar. It wasn't long before Tom worked out that he and Alison had all the talent, and so they ditched the others, grabbed Paul 'Dunks' Dunken and formed their own band, Smudge. They didn't want to hurt John (who had soon changed into Robyn) and Nic's feelings, so they still played in Godstar too, but kept their best work for Smudge.
For a little fun on the side one day, Tom, Nic, Alison and Tanya decided to play under the name SmudgeSneezeStar. Over the years this outfit developed into something a bit more regular known to many as just Sneeze - though still silly enough not to be taken too seriously.
These days, Tom strutts his stuff in his fav Gumball t-shirt for Smudge and Sneeze. He is a master of the guitar and together with an extraordinary voice he always blows our minds.
