Chateau de Versailles (Final Palace of the French Monarchy)

The Chateau de Versailles was the final seat of the French monarchy. The palace was the seat of the royalty until 1789, when King Louis XXVIII (18th) was beheaded. At that time the French Revolution had begun. French General during the war, Napoleon, is buried in Paris. The last major use for the palace was November 11, 1919 in the 11 o'clock hour in the Hall of Mirrors. At this time the Treaty of Versailles was signed officially ending World War I. The chateau is now a museum and you can see sites such as the throne of the King, the Queen's bedroom, the Hall of Mirrors, the cathedral in the palace and more.
