Musee de Louvre (former palace of King Louis XIV)
The Louvre was the palace of the King of France until the beginning of the 18th century. When King Louis XIV abandoned Paris for Versailles, there probably wasn't a single Parisean that was happy. Now a museum that is home to the most popular piece of art in the world, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. Up for a virtual tour of the Louvre? I have a link just for that.
