Got
a bike up and running (which is important because the station is 10
to 15 minutes away on foot, but less than 5 minutes away by bike!)
Apparently
it belonged to a downstairs neighbor of Kayo's parents, who moved
away and left it...? Something like that. It's a "City Jack."
It's probably a $150 bike -- not the nicest out there, but better
than the smaller, weaker girlie things Kayo and her sister used to
use!
I
bought a lock for it today as well, just a cheap one, because this
is Japan, and no one steals nuthin', usually! And "easy come,
easy go" besides.
The
other thing I "did" was receive my package of guitar &
PC stuff that I had mailed from America 6 weeks ago. Finally! All
my guitar shit has arrived, I can actually practice with distortion
and reverb again! Although it turns out I didn't pack a 30' cable
or my tuner, so I'm gonna have to go buy 'em anyway. C'est la vie.
I also got a nice set of DVDs and CDRoms that I haven't goofed around
with for a couple months, yay.
Along
with my guitar stuff came my three favorite games... Jedi Knight
(1997), Thief (1998), and Deus Ex (2000). Half-Life,
my 1999 Game o' the Year, wasn't sent because it was a bootleg version,
and I didn't want to sully the greatness of the other games... or
have my package flagged by Japanese postal inspectors. I still plan
on buying the Half-Life multipack with OpFor and all the rest, someday!
But not in Japan, where used PC games cost Y6000 or more! Jeez!
