now playing: Puffy's Jet CD (1998)

Hey, I stuck that Dir en grey animated gif on this page, in case you missed it yesterday (it was a late addition).

Today a typhoon hit Tokyo; lots of wind, lots of rain, and when I got home (from where I cannot divulge) the river near our house was quite beastly; the mini-islands were submerged, the dam's red lights were flashing... I'm glad I don't live on the ground floor.

Stupidly, this morning I rode my bike to the station. The bike parking lot was rather barren, seeing as how everyone else was smart enough to walk to the station in the pounding rain. (Have you ever tried riding in the rain and wind down thin Japanese alleys with an umbrella in one hand? Quite impossible, and the 'brelly only protects your hair, and that only barely. Christ almighty! Get me to a trenchcoat shoppe!)

Oh, remember how I said Jet CD sucked yesterday? It doesn't! t actually has the Black Sabbathy song I was talking about! And Kore Ga Watashi No Ikirumichi, which I did a heavy metal version of back before I started Lo/Rez in New York! So, "Official Retraction!"

TV shows on recently week: NYPD Blue and The A-Team. Did I catch either of them? I did not. But I'd still like to do a metal version of The A-Team theme.

Searching for "used laptops tokyo," I found a diary by a woman in Japan. I wrote to her and said hi, where can I get a cheap used laptop? She wrote back and amicably suggested Akihabara ("Electric Town"), and to look for signs that said "junk" in katakana, because as any Japanese person knows, any PC more than a year old is garbage! So I'm going to give that a shot this weekend, and hopefully I'll be able to go back to daily postings as a result. As it stands now, it looks like Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays are the only days I'll be checking in here.

"Lates!"

(That's supposed to be "short" for "laters!, but it really isn't, is it?)
