Shizuku
A three song video, a three song CD, a booklet and a box... circa 1996. Anybody know 'em? They're okay, but I think I might end up selling the box back to a used CD store; they don't inspire like Pierrot or Dir en grey (or L'Arc, Luna, X, or SMG for that matter)...

Inoran
This is his 1997 album, which features DJ Krush a bit, and is overall quite poor. You'd never have thought he plays guitar listening to this riffless, hookless crap. Nice packaging design though, all silver, black and blue-grey, with postcards for each track, instead of a CD booklet (which seemed cool at first, but got annoying fast).

Jeez That Was Heavy

now playing: Luna Sea b-sides (1998-2001)

That was one heavy posting yesterday, eh? Christ!

Anyway, I'm recharged now; did nothing all day, except lots of guitar playing and CD ripping. Specifically, I've backed up a bunch of B-side material I've collected over the last two months, and I've been thinking of maybe selling CD-Rs of the stuff. Only rare stuff that's hard to find, because I know if I was still in America and wanted, for example, the Luna Sea song With (not Wish, With!), I'd have a damn hard time getting it. Maybe a shitty-sounding mp3 is online somewhere, but screw that, I'd want hi-fi all the way.

So if anyone wants the following songs, let me know. I can either do it as an audio CD or as an mp3 data CDr, whichever you prefer. I figure $20 covers everything pretty fairly, including postage, ne?

The track listing:

1 Be Gone
2 Be In Agony
3 Inside You
4 Into the Sun
5 Kono Sekai no Hatede
6 Looper
7 My Lover
8 Until the Day I Die
9 With

These are all the b-sides released in connection with the albums Shine (1998) and Lunacy (2000). Frankly, I think some of these tunes suck, but there are several tracks that are quite worthwhile, and what the hell, it's Luna Sea, man! So, yanno, whatever. No pressure. :)

I was thinking I might do this for other bands (notably Pierrot and Dir en grey) but I'd feel guilty: Luna Sea's a bunch of rich bastards. Dir en grey (and to a lesser extent, Pierrot, who seem to be more popular) still need a few more years to secure their positions and earn their millions, so for now I'm not gonna rob them of any royalties. But fuck, Luna Sea's Ryuichi is just an obnoxious bastard, so screw him... the last thing he needs is more money. (Have I delivered this rant to you guys before? Typing it seems familiar!)

What else did I do today? Played a lot of guitar, even though my nails are kinda short (because on the train ride home this morning I seem to have bit them all down to the bone, like a dork). And I watched "Ripley" (aka The Talented Mr. Ripley) on Wowow. Cool flick; I love evil characters that get away with stuff by relying on skill and other people's stupidity.

Assorted minutiae: there's a traffic light near my house, at a street crossing which I use pretty much every day. You know how, in the U.S., there's a "Push to Cross" button that you can push, and after waiting for a minute the light turns red and the walk sign turns green? Well at this one intersection, there's no waiting. You push it and the light immediately changes to yellow. I've been observing this for a couple weeks now, and I've been wanting to tell you all, but what the hell, it's so trivial! So I never got around to sharing it til now. Just another cool example of how nice life can be in Japan, if you needed one.
