"Although my musical performing career began when I was seventeen my recording career didn't begin until I was nineteen. I moved to Okinawa, Japan in August of 1979. I bought an Akai four track reel to reel, a Sansui mixer, and a couple of Teac microphones. I started overdubbing songs that I had written and a couple of old favorites with my Guild G37BL acoustic guitar and my voice as these were the only instruments that I had in Japan. I lived on top of Sunami hill right at the end of the runway for Kadena Air base. You can hear the jets screaming overhead in some of the tracks." The recording was completed using an Akai 270DSS and was digitally enhanced using Adobe Audition version 1.0. All instrumental and vocal performances were performed, recorded, and produced by John Spreier. The photographs were taken in Okinawa by Mary Spreier and digitally enhanced by John.
