Friday the 13th

By...

*Taken from the back of the DVD*

~Terror and suspense abound in this 24-hour nightmare of blood. Camp Crystal Lake has been shuttered for over 20 years due to several vicious and unsolved murders. The camp’s new owner and several young counselors are readying the property for re-opening despite warnings of a “death curse” by local residents. The curse proves true on Friday the 13th as one by one each of the counselors is stalked by a violent killer. This film is widely acclaimed for its horrifying and creative murder sequences.~

-----The first installment of Friday the 13th may very well be one of the greatest. With a game cast including Kevin Bacon & Betsy Palmer, you really can’t go wrong with this one. Classic death sequences, chilling music and an overly eerie atmosphere puts this film over the top. This is one movie that no horror collection can do without!

Known by many as the “prototype” slasher film, Friday the 13th was one of the first horror movies to incorporate the now classic slasher formula consisting of a large kill count and gory death sequences. With the ultimate horror duo of producer/director Sean Cunningham and special effects master Tom Savini, Friday the 13th would go on to become one of the most successful independent films of all time. It spawned many sequels and copycats but few could come close to reliving the horror of Friday the 13th.
