These are the songs of Helms Deep in the order in which they
were written with the credits and a brief description below each.

The Curse Of Autumn
(Blake)
A short but fast and brutal black metal song inspired by Darkthrone.

"The Doom Song"
(all members)
Basically jam based black metal: One guitar would play G/G# while the other
played a lead and they alternated. The song had a slow, trudging feel.

Of Man And Blessed Sick
(
Pat)
Another short one - fast black metal with an 80's thrash feel.

"The 8 Minute Song"
(Eric/Adam)
Very melodic black metal with a thrashy mid-section and a touch of death metal at the end.

The Tangled Path of Eternity
(Eric/Adam)
After being rewritten several times it was a very raw black metal song with a
power/thrash breakdown and a lead in the middle. The outro was a slow,
doomy section with clean full chords.

Of Man And Blessed Sick (revised version)
(Pat/Adam)
With Adam's contributions this song turned into a seven minute monster with some
ripping guitar solos and a total retro thrash section in the middle.

The Dark Minister
(Pat/Adam)
Originally a song Pat wrote for his own band (Hvelvengle Av Hvelvet) this had
a raw, evil feel. Adam added some black metal ideas of his own and gave the
song an epic outro complete with a full band rock-out. This was the stage closer.

"The Million Riff Massacre"
(Adam)
By the name you might have guessed it: This was a long song with a ton of different
riffs and sections but no title. By its initials it was eventually dubbed "Mr. M."
The
song was very thrashy but had some black metal moments and a grooving verse riff.

The Siege Of Gondor
(Adam/Eric)
This was the final song written durring the life of Helms Deep. There was nothing black
metal about it at all. Lyrics were never written, but it was definitely a song of war and battle.
The best thing to compare it to would be Endless Pain era Kreator (a big influence as well).
