This is the first concert I ever went to... corny, I know, but...... shut up.
BBMak
Jessica Riddle
Richard Lugo
Solid Harmonie
with Kate, Allie and Dan
BBMAK rules my life. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to deny it. They were a huge influence on me. Jessica Riddle is an incredible musician, I wish I had liked her as much then as I do now. Kate and Allie met her.
Reveille
7th Rail Crew
Carv
Eastcide
with Seth, Kate and Sean
Holy shit... I don't know where to start with this one. Crazy is all. We didn't see Seth the WHOLE time (who stayed in the mosh pit) until we saw him crowdsurfing. Sean was around and easier to spot, but don't think he didn't have his share of moshing (and a shirt shredded to shit to show for it). lol. My first metal concert, first moshing experience, an earring near ripped out, and one of the BEST nights of my life. I WANT TO SEE REVEILLE AGAIN!! {p.s. we met Eastcide}
Soul Decision
Splender
Tone Loc
Syndicate
with Kristen, Elise, Kelli, and Allie
met all of these bands, including ridiculousy hot and canadian SD... Splender was the show stealer though, damn straight coolest and most talented band I'd seen in a while.
American Hi-Fi
Phantom Planet
with Kate and Allie
TWICE
i'm going to have to make another webpage altogether to talk about THIS concert. This was the one to remember, met and hung out with the band both nights, didn't meet American H-Fi, but they put on a really good show. I get to see them again at Warped Tour. YAY!
In-Discretion
Duckhunt
Nailbedd
Origamy French-Fry
Ophelia
Roman Thirty
Pickle Spill: Aisle 6
with the coolest crew ever: Seth, Kim, Pat, Allie, Elise, Kate, Kelly, Sam, Bill, Les, Brian, Katie, Shannon, Andrea, and Tami
Oh shit this was a great concert... 30 local MA bands, met the ones listed here, of which I thought were the BEST and hope to see many many times again. I met my "online friend" Elise here, who was at the same Phantom Planet concert as me back in October... trippy. Should make a page about that one too...
Hoobastank
Incubus
with Shannon, Elise, and Simon
got to see Incubus!!! had a great ride up, Shannon and I are so funny together, and have a sign made out of bubblewrap that said "INCUBUS". It resides on her door, and we're going to continue the tradition with one for Weezer in July. (YAY!!)Elise is awesome, and her friend Simon was cool too. Hoobastank rocked my socks also.
LOCOBAZOOKA
Sevendust, Filter, Nonpoint, Mad@Gravity, Audiovent, Mushroomhead, Eastcide, Trace Elliot, Earshot, Dry Cell and more
with Shannon
This was the craziest shit... awesome time. we drove all the way to NH and the first band we saw ended up being the best, Mad@Gravity. They rocked. and then we met them, which ruled, and then we met Dry Cell after they performed too, and they were also, AWESOME. i know i sound like a loser, but really, these kids are the best new bands i've seen in a LONG time. (regardless of what others may say about them) Audiovent sucked, (word of advice, i don't care who your brother is! you're NOT incubus!!) Mushroomhead scared me, Eastcide was alright, i hate their vocalist, i feel like he gave me a tumor in my stomach cause he's such a fucking pig. haha... yeha... the bassist rules though, i met him before at the reveille concert, and he was cool then too. but eascide as a whole... GRRR, boo. yeah. Nonpoint is a new favorite of mine i think. they were good, even though by then shannon and i were too fucking hot to be up front, we were in the tents cooling down. did i mention it was so FREAKING HOT? haha, yeah.... but we survived. Earshot was good until i got kicked in the head and SHANNON in the nose! yeah... haha... and then of COURSE sevendust made everything okay, and by that time, alot of people had just taken to the ground around the crowd, and it looked like fucking woodstock, so peaceful and carefree.... i think that those minutes are what made the whole trip worth it. i might have to go to this again in Worcester. [[[but it still sucks that Reveille wasn't there!!!!]]
WEEZER, Sparta, and Dashboard Confessional!!!
with Shannon and Mike S.
Amazing concert. Have you ever seen God in person? no, me neither.. and you don't really even know if he exists, and you'd die for living proof... well, in my world, Rivers Cuomo is God, and he does exist and i saw him with my own eyes! from less than 100 feet away!! 7th fucking row, man. it was incredible. fun ride up, fun ride back. They played so much Pinkerton, i was shocked... along with plenty blue and green maladroit... seemed like a wicked long set. the only thing i missed was Buddy Holly, but Shannon and i made up for it by screaming it at the top of our lungs through the parking lot. and Shannon and i met this cool kid Mike and snuck him from his shitty lawn seats to our row to watch all the opening acts. I'm in love with Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional. and Sparta was cool too. Little highlight of the night was getting the beachball that'd be passed around the whole crowd... it said www.Rooney-Band.com all over it! haha... yeah. so that was fun. i want to go see Weezer again, and again, and again... and again...
Warped Tour
Thursday, MXPX, Reel Big Fish, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, Goldfinger, The Eyeliners, Good Charlotte!!! and tons more...
Kate, Mike, and Kelly
Oh muh gawd. Insane heat. It sucked. lol.. bad sunburn to show for it, too. I got to LISTEN to one Thursday song, but i was on the other side waiting for Good Charlotte, or something.. lol... same with MXPX, i got to HEAR chick magnet. lol... Good Charlotte was def. my fav band there... so incredible. i was in the front for their whole set. haha... Reel Big Fish is an AMAZING live band.. i'm so impressed by them. Aaron = impressive. haha. Alkaline Trio... well.. their CDs are good, but live, i don't think they really cut it. Goldfinger was alright, i like Superman.... that's about all i got out of it. i tried to call my brother during that song cause he likes and knows it from that Tony Hawk video game. hahaaaa. The Eyeliners were awesome... i love seeing girls rocking it out. i met the guitarist with kim later, that was cool. and who did i forget to mention? New Found Glory? OH YEAH, WELL THEY FUCKING ROCKED, and i hafta go see them again SOON at the palladium... in November. YEAH. i love them. highlight of their set, Glory of Love, well, for me anyways... not to mention how the pits were undoubtedly the most insane pits there for some reason or another that they are soft core and people like seth decided to fuck em up reeeeeal good. hahaha... nice.. so yeah. it was cool. found seth and kim a little fucking later then i would have liked to..... oh well.
