factor eight have been added to the bill of a CD release party to be held on Friday, July 4th. Taking place at Call the Office (216 York Street, London ON), factor eight will be playing a half hour set to help support the debut release of indie band HER, "Straight from the Loft". Details of admission prices and times have yet to be announced but will be made public in the coming weeks. Also on the bill include Isabelle's Vanity, Majors, and headliners HER.
factor eight have been included on this year's "Building Independents" indie compilation. Released in conjunction with the Jason Young Foundation Benefit Concert on May 24th, the compilation includes a re-mastered version of "Wounded". Featuring seventeen of Ottawa's top indie acts including Channel One and Nectar, this CD can be picked up for $10 at Nutshell Music (58 Antares Drive, Unit 1B, Ottawa, ON) or at the Ottawa CD warehouse or Compact Music locations. All proceeds of the CD go to the Bear's Children fund, but further donations may be given directly through the Jason Young Foundation or to the Ottawa Distress Centre.
factor eight would like to personally thank all those in attendence at the Tier3 show @ Cafe Dekcuf. After taking the stage at 9pm to a sold out venue, factor eight played an energetic forty five minute set, but, due to time restraints, were forced to decline an encore. factor eight would also like to thank Nameless Faces for helping pack the house and headliners Tier3 for including them on the bill.
