factor eight have been selected to headline this year's Nepean Showcase Jam. Taking place Friday, November 15th, 2002 at the Nepean Sportsplex (Halls A+B), factor eight will take to the stage at 11 45pm. Tickets are $6 and are available at Ben Franklin Place or directly off of the band or one of the bands playing the show. factor eight won second place last year at this show and hope to make this year's effort a first place performance. Other acts on the bill include Decitone, Spectrum, All Against Me, Fonetiks, Nemesys, M.S.C., Speed Roc, Driving Phoenix, and Broken Bridge. factor eight has confirmed three shows over the next month in November.
The first show is an all ages show on Tuesday, November 12th at Babylon (317 Bank St.) Sponsored by Driven Entertainment, factor eight will be appearing courtesy of Superstar Records and opening for two bands that played the Ottawa SnoJam show, Chuck Calibre and local rapcore band 54stance. Ticket prices and what time the show will start at will be released as they are determined.
The second show is an all ages show at the John McCrae Coffeehouse Thursday, November 21st. Taking place at John McCrae HS (103 Malvern Drive) in Barrhaven, factor eight will be headlining this Battle of the Bands. The show will start at 7pm, but ticket prices and competing bands have yet to be determined.
The third show is also an all ages show on Sunday, November 24th, 2002 at the Ottawa Civic Centre (10151 Bank Street). The show is free with admission to the Ottawa 67's game against the Oshawa Generals. factor eight will take the stage prior to the game commencing at 7pm, and then twice again in between the period intermissions of the game. In other news, factor eight is to appear on the CJOH television network program Midday Newsline to help promote their upcoming performances. Two songs and an interview with the band are scheduled to happen, although which day the taping will air is yet to be determined. Keep checking back to the site for more details.
factor eight has also been added to the band directory Satan's Cafe to further expand their audience over the internet.
Finally, factor eight would like to thank all of those in attendence at the Ottawa 67's game at the Ottawa Civic Centre on Friday. factor eight played an energetic half hour set before the game commenced and two fifteen minute sets during the period intermissions. An enjoyable time was had by all, and the band cannot wait to play again.
