The brother brought up some good concerns. I wish i could send this email
out to everyone that goes on chatrooms. My personal opinion of how
destructive the internet is is solely based on one violation, which is
wasting time. We know the hadith qudsi of the prophet sallahu \'alayhi
wassallam that says....
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah{may Allah be pleased with him} who said the
Messanger of Allah sallahu \'alayhi wassallam, said: Allah said:\"Sons of adam inveigh against [the vicissitudes] of Time, and I am Time, in
My hand is the night and day.\" [bukhari and Muslim]
\"yasubbu banou aadama addahr, wa anaddahru, bi yadillaylu wannahaar.\"
I know of a brother who used to memorize suwar of the Quran as smoothly as
drinking water. He\'s a very young brother who is now caught up on the net.
He could have finished the whole Quran by now but he has been caught in this
literal net, a net of deception. I ask you to make du\'a for this brother as
i feel concern for him. When you see a hafiz forget the quran because he
waste his time on a stupid machine, you can only shake your head and shed
tears. This brother used to walk 2 miles to make it to salatal fajr in the
rough cold weather of the countryside. I always used to see him in the
masjid but also on the net. My Allah help us to use our time efficiently.
