Dania Beach is located to the east of Fort Lauderdale and is a good place to spend a few hours enjoying the relatively warm waters. On this day the beach was occupied by quite a few Pelicans due to the fact that there was a significant crowd of fishing-enthusiasts lodged on the Pier.
This panaromic view overlooks the Northern side of Ft. Lauderdale. Notice the tall structures of the harbor port machinery.

We reach Dania Beach at around 1630 hrs and are surprised and also glad to see an empty beach. The obvious reason, it beingChristmas eve!!

As we stepped onto the beach in overcast conditions, the sight of the Pier reminded me of a similar one @ the beach in Alleppey, Kerala, India. While this one was a pure walking structure, the later is an abandoned railway bridge(pier)(Top picture).

A brief shower followed by mild sunshine resulted in this phenomenon called : 'Rainbow' on the horizon.

The only company that we had on the beach was this group of pelicans who had perched themselves on the pier waiting to be fed by some locals who were busy fishing alongside the same.
