We were hoping to sight some gators during this pullover into a viewing area located on the 'Alligator Alley : I-75) around 50 miles west of Ft. Lauderdale. Sadly though, we couldn't spot any! However, the surroundings were a treat to watch.(Top picture)

This 'Giant Heron' was busy searching for food. We saw him patiently waiting for the fish and then swooping his beak into the water to pouch his prey. This particular one was about 2.5 feet tall!(Right side picture) -->

We are posing for a picture in front of the marsh lands surrounding the Alligator Alley under the bright and warm skies of Florida

Once again, we all decided to strike a pose in front of the marsh lands. From left: Amol, Pallavee, Nivedita & Nikhil

There were plenty of birds around and this magpipe was especially bold enough to stay close and not get intimidated by the photographers around her.
