8 Constitution, 2 Strength, 2 Wisdom, +8 Dexterity
Small: As a Small creature, a speedling gains a +1 size bonus to Armor Class, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, and a +4 size bonus on Hide checks, but he uses smaller weapons than humans use, and his lifting and carrying limits are three-quarters of those of a Medium character.
Speedling base land speed is 40 feet. Though small, speedlings are incredibly fast.
+4 dodge bonus to Armor Class. Any time a creature loses its Dexterity bonus (if any) to Armor Class, such as when its caught flat-footed, it loses its dodge bonus as well. Dodge bonuses stack.
Automatic Language: Common. Bonus Languages: Auran, Aquan, Elven, Giant, Sylvan.
Favored Class: Rogue. When determining whether a multiclass speedling takes an experience point penalty, rogue class levels do not count.
Immunity to slow and paralysis spells and effects, and a 5 racial penalty on saving throws against illusion spells or effects. Racial penalty of 1 on all other saving throws.
Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day haste (self only), caster level equal to half character level.
Fey blood: Speedlings count as fey for the purposes of racial effects, and cannot be targeted by spells that affect humanoids only. They are vulnerable to cold iron and take 150% damage from cold iron weapons.
Level Adjustment: +1
Speedlings are the distant relatives of quicklings, being slightly larger, and somewhat less inclined to random and impulsive murderous acts. Sages theorize that, for whatever reason, a quickling may have had offspring with a halfling, ultimately resulting in descendants that were less agile as well as less driven to evil. Any quicklings that hear of this idea immediately deride the notion.
All known speedlings encountered thus far have had bluish skin, leading some folk to cast suspicious eyes at the erruni, but aside from a general disregard for excessive order, an emphasis on fun, and a somewhat elflike appearance, speedlings appear to have nothing in common with them. The two rarely associate, though whether this is accident or design has been unproven.
