Flay begins on a prime world called Mori. In addition to the influence of external powers, Mori has its own, native powers. Some are detailed below.

The Victor, He Who Humbles, He Who Humiliates, The Crushing Greatness
Neutral Greater Power
Portfolio: Strength, Overwhelming Might, Great Victory, One-sided results, Clarity
Domains: Strength, War, Glory, Destruction, Knowledge
Izzwn appears as a long-haired male clad in a white robe. He sometimes carries a crystal greatsword. Among the faithful of Izzwn it is whispered that he continually seeks someone able to withstand a single solid blow of the sword, as no being has yet survived its full power. On that day, the sword will crack, and Izzwn will shave his hair and give it to the worthy one. Anyone meeting Izzwn may challenge him once to strike them a mighty blow; if they survive, he will grant them a boon, but if they perish, their very soul will be destroyed.
Izzwn is served by the two intermediate powers Onor and Ahnnar.
The Scarred, The Bloodthirsty
CE Intermediate Power
Portfolio: Domination, Inequality, Injustice, Tyranny, Bloodlust, Menace, Butchery, Agony
Domains: Evil, Chaos, War, Destruction
The weak are worth nothing, not even the time it takes to wipe them from your boots. Revel in deeds of strength. Commit acts of indescribable torment upon those beneath you, not simply for fun, but because their weakness compells you to. Social standards are for fools, and those without the stomach to do what needs to be done are cowards.
Onor finds a fierce joy in the presence of Izzwn, whose strength dominates his subordinates utterly. Aside from that, however, she acknowledges no master or equal. A few of the foreign powers are strong, but she generally has nothing but contempt for their weak-willed policies.
Onor always appears as a female with blood red eyes and usually long white hair, and is typically clad from the neck down in black armor of some type. Though her appearance could be beautiful, it is always marred by scars. It is whispered among her faithful that these scars were gained from challenging Izzwn in personal combat, and cover every inch of her body. The followers of Izzwn add that it took but a casual backhand stroke of his sword to nearly slay her, and so complete and total was her defeat that indelible reminders of her shame and humiliation appeared instantly all over her being. Occasionally cults arise claiming that this is not correct, and purporting to know the real reason behind those scars (invariably some story that further inflates her importance in the realm). Onor appears to pay them no more attention than she pays any other grouping of her followers.
No mortal has seen Onor fight and lived to tell of it; even her own followers are slain messily when bloodlust overtakes her.
The Serene Maiden, The Yielding Strength, The Hidden Power
NG Intermediate Power. Priests of Ahnnar may freely multiclass as monks, regardless of alignment.
Portfolio: Serenity, Acceptance, Peace in Strength, Paradoxes, Surprises
Domains: Healing, Sun, Good, Trickery, Air
Though apparently equal to Onor in prowess, Ahnnar takes a calm and even deferent approach to the other two strength-related powers. This causes her followers to be treated with some contempt by those of the other two, who invariably try to order them around. Ahnnar teaches followers to not place too much faith in the apparent order of things, for there is always someone stronger than you and there is always something you do not know. Accept restrictions if you can, even if you do not agree with them, for unknown good may yet come of them. When a restriction cannot be accepted, strike with swift fury to destroy it.
There is a clear and obvious rivalry between those who follow Onor and those who heed Ahnnar. It has yet to spill into open war, however, as invariably followers of Izzwn arrive to berate both sides and order them back to their duties. Servants of Onor suggest that Ahnnar is a coward who cleans chamberpots and performs other odious tasks for Onor; servants of Ahnnar counter with rumors that her scars are not from a fight with Izzwn, but her first meeting with Ahnnar, the only known time the two did battle. No non-Ahnnari tend to believe the latter story, but it enrages Onor's followers nonetheless.
In stark contrast to Onor, Ahnnar appears as a delicate maiden with clear eyes, vibrant hair, and radiantly beautiful features. Ahnnar is usually clad in an elegant robe, and walks barefoot on the air itself. She is never depicted as appearing with any weapon of her own, although she is not averse to handling them; stories abound of Ahnnar taking weapons from the evil and unworthy by force and bestowing them upon champions of good.
Enchanted Lady, The Untouchable, The Scandalous Maiden, The Last Inch, The Tease, The Undecipherable
LN Greater Power. Clerics, Monks, and Paladins of Cela may freely multiclass as Bards, despite the alignment restriction.
Portfolio: Close Calls, Near-Misses, Mixed Luck, Survival, Precision, Breathtaking Stunts, Liberty, Fun, Boundaries, Games, Magic, Bards
Domains: Luck, Trickery, Magic, Law, Protection
Emphasizing both the rule of Law and the joy of freedom in areas where no rules exist, Cela often appears completely nude, usually as a female. Despite the thoughts this conjures up in the uninitiated, Cela does not claim Lust or Love as a part of her portfolio. Rather, the logic of Cela runs something akin to this: There are no rules stating that a power of Law must appear respectable, or even clothed. There is precedent for powers choosing to appear nude, and even benefiting from it. She is therefore completely free to exercise her choice in the matter. If bored with her appearance, Cela may appear in a number of farfetched guises; these are incredibly distracting (a giant winged whale appearing in a desert, for example), but since the open appearance of a Greater Power seizes the attention of everyone present anyway, she rules that it does no harm.
A relatively young power, Cela would be more likely to amuse herself by dodging boulders in an avalanche than by dallying with some mortal or power. In fact, every recorded case where a suitor was attracted to Cela has ended fruitlessly and even badly - for the suitor. Cela manages to come out unscathed.
Despite these apparently chaotic, carefree acts, sages have noted that Cela does not actually break or encourage the breaking of laws or strictures - she merely comes very close. She encourages followers to do the same, but anyone who crosses over into actually violating a law or edict by accident requires an atonement. Those who violate laws deliberately cannot atone; Cela has no use for sloppy followers who lack the skill to toe the line. To Celans, staying within the rules is part of the fun of flirting with danger.
Having no personal favored weapon, Cela relies upon her surroundings for improvised weapons if forced into combat. Such weapons are not always wielded by her own hands; coincidental appearances of forces, unexpected earthquakes, and inexplicable storms are known to spring up when Cela fights.
Since Cela claimed the mantle of arbiter of magic amongst the Morillian powers, none have been foolish enough to challenge her in magical combat. It does occasionally rankle archmages that the Morillian power of magic is no wizard or sorcerer, but instead a "mere" bard. However, any archmages who harbor such thoughts have been scrupulously careful to avoid mention of it, just in case. For a greater power, Cela is usually remarkably unfazed by disrespect - but she has also been known to explain to mages that by the precepts of magic, it is within her rights to grant or revoke spellcasting ability on a whim, and demonstrate this on them.
Cela is served by the two intermediate powers :P and Murderer.
The Ever-Changing, The Elegant
Neutral Intermediate Power
Portfolio: Art, Codes, Ciphers, Emblems, Flags, Heraldry, Symbols, Words.
Domains: Knowledge, Magic, Symbols
:P has never appeared in a humanoid form, instead always appearing as a floating symbol of some kind. Very frequently it chooses not to make an appearance at all, but rather it will rearrange some existing materials to form words to convey its instructions. The holy symbol used by :P’s followers usually resembles a smiley face of some sort, with the exact details varying by region or organization ( :), =] ). The ambitions and personality of :P are not known; it seems to have no recognizable agenda beyond promoting the growth of the written word and the use of symbols wherever possible. The followers of :P are few, and generally associate with Celans, who recognize their worth and usually hold them in high esteem.

The Beastly, The Wild, The Tempest
Neutral Intermediate Power
Portfolio: Beasts, Magical Beasts, Dragons, Storms, Deserts, Healing, Change, Royalty
Domains: Animal, Fire, Water, Healing
Awr frequently appears as an eagle or other majestic animal. Less frequently, it takes the form of a monster, but never a plant. Long ago, Awr had dominion over the jungles as well, but one day, it gave chase to Cela, and in the resulting confusion, she stole that fragment of its portfolio and gave it to Thell (for its aid in hiding her, Awr's followers say.) Awr orders its followers to strike down and destroy all plant life in return for the theft. While this feud continues, they are forbidden to slay any beast (magical or otherwise).
Awr's more powerful followers often become Masters of Shapes.
The Verdant, The Overgrown, The Stinging
Neutral Intermediate Power
Portfolio: Plants, Plant Monsters, Forests, Jungles, Poison, Decay
Domains: Plant, Earth, Death, Destruction
Thell frequently appears as an oak or other majestic plant. Less frequently, it takes the form of a plant monster, but never an animal. Long ago, Awr had dominion over the jungles, but one day, it tried to chase Cela, and in the resulting confusion, she stole that fragment of its portfolio and gave it to Thell (for Thell was more worthy, its followers say.) Thell orders its followers to strike down and drive off animals everywhere so that plants will rule the land. Followers of Thell are commanded to do no harm to plants or plant creatures.
Thell's followers invariably strive to become Verdant Lords.
NG Lesser Power
Portfolio: Roads, Portals, Travelers, Adventure, Remorse
Domains: Travel, Protection, Good
Although he is an ancient being, much of the Wanderer's portfolio was taken by Cela after he made the mistake of courting her. Accounts of the details vary widely, and most are contradicted by other accounts. Rumor has it that he still wanders the lands in some form, a half-amnesiac who cannot even remember his divine status.
The Ancient Eye, The Fixated, The Watcher
CN Greater Power (Followers often CE)
Portfolio: Avarice, Hunger, Lust, Dream, Desire, Confusion, Betrayal, Obsession, Subjective Truth.
Domains: Chaos, Trickery, Love (detailed in Book of Exalted Deeds), Magic
Likkut appears as a colossal beholder with only one eye. If the surroundings are too small, he simply bursts them to make room for his form. His gaze is widely known to be terrible and all-destroying, but a few of Likkut's followers claim that they see rapture and understanding in its depths. Outsiders interpret these claims as attempts to maintain the Confusion part of Likkut's portfolio in the face of possible encroachment by the new Rincul.
Likkut is said to be old, but not as old as Izzwn. The two are said to have an ancient agreement, and Likkut has instructed his followers to avoid openly interfering with Izzwn's where possible. Many followers long to precipitate a religious war to stamp out Rincul's followers before she can regain enough power to seize some part of Likkut's portfolio, but Likkut himself has remained strangely silent on this matter.
Neutral Intermediate Powers. Supposedly, with their sister, the Deaths are equivalent to a Greater Power.
Immol
Portfolio: Death by Fire, Starvation
Domains: Death, Fire, Sun
Shadthrakt
Portfolio: Death by Violence
Domains: Death, Destruction, War
Desul
Portfolio: Death by Drowning or Natural Disaster
Domains: Death, Water, Air
?
Portfolio: The Unknown
Domains: None (no followers)
The Brothers Death invariably appear male, but there is at least one recorded instance of them referring to "their sister." This reference has mystified scholars throughout Mori. The brothers themselves are, much to the chagrin of the denizens of Mori, fairly well known. Immol appears as a shadowy male figure backlit by fire. He does not speak, although he occasionally gives off a crackling laugh. Shadthrakt is a tall, thin humanoid covered head to toe in impenetrable strips of metal. He speaks with a deep, resonant voice. Desul is a short, portly man with a pointed beard and pointed ears. His speech is quick and fluid.
(Old) Maiden of the Impossible, (New) The Silver Lady, The Unbound, Hope in Darkness
CG Lesser Power
Portfolio: Cold, Destruction of Undead, Madness, Rebirth, Sanity
Domains: Cold, Lunacy, Moon, Silver
Rincul attempted to win Cela's heart, reasoning that she could succeed where others failed. The result was the loss of her entire Portfolio. Her followers were, for a time, mostly the descendants of old followers from before the failure; they hoped in vain for a restoration of her powers. Rincul's status and follower base steadily diminished to the point where she became a demipower venerated only by fanatics. Many descended into unfounded superstition, paranoia, and mass sacrifices to no avail.
Following a series of adventures in which some Morillians were drawn into a neighboring plane, it was discovered that Rincul had fallen under the influence of a series of elaborate rituals masterminded by priests of foreign powers. It was these rituals that drew off her power and caused her to be increasingly erratic. Awakening, Rincul cast off her chains and established her claim to a new portfolio.

The Flawless, the Desirable
CN Intermediate Power
Portfolio: Beauty, The Sea, Precious Items.
Domains: Chaos, Trickery, Water
The Mother of Pearl often appears as an animated pearl figure of consummate beauty. This appearance combines her roles as overlord of the waters and steward of precious items. For some time now, she has also claimed the portfolio of Beauty as independent of any observer; some see this as a step towards open encroachment upon Likkut's portfolio. Her sponsorship of Pearl Maidens is intended to help recruit followers inland, apart from the coastal peoples that have traditionally been her power base.
The Mother of Pearl views deaths, particularly by drowning, as ugly; she is happy to let Desul handle that aspect of maritime affairs. However, she retains tight control over all other water-related activities.
