The Proposal

Chris and I officially started dating on June 11, 2004. For New Years Eve the band that Chris is in had to play at the American Legion. I had suspected that he was going to propose UNTIL Christmas. Then I thought that things had changed. For Christmas, one of my gifts was a mothers ring. I had mentioned that I would like to have one but I never expected to get one so soon.

Since I got the mothers ring for Christmas, I knew there was no way that Chris was going to buy an engagement ring one week later and propose to me! Boy was I wrong!

At midnight the band sang Auld Lang Syne and since I run the sound board, Chris included me in on this. I went on stage and sang along with them. The song was finished and I tried to exit the stage but Chris grabbed me and asked his bass player for the ring. I was in shock! Right there in front of everyone, including my cousin Donavan and his fiance' Amanda, my sister Ashley and my parents and son, he asked me to be his wife. Of course, I excepted!!!!

The wedding date is June 11, 2005! Does the date sound familiar? Our reception will be held in the same place that Chris proposed, the American Legion.
