My Place In Space

I am a sixties child. The sixties were a very confusing time for me. It was a time of war. Yet peace and love were also dominant factors of the era. The sixties were a time of rebellion and a time of liberation. It was a time of celebrating one's self. The voices of America's children were ringing out the message of Peace.. It was a needed era. The world was growing... Our voices and opinions were needed to give society, as it was, a wake-up call. And I do believe that it turned out for the better...After all, we couldn't go on like the Cleaver family for much longer with the world growing and changing so quickly..Yep, the times they were a changin and the youth of America would never be the same again. The phrase "Children should be seen and not heard" would soon become words of the past.

I made it through the turmoil of the sixties. And surprisingly enough I married my first love. We have been together for thirty two years. His name is Paul and he is my soul mate for life. A more patient and loving man does not walk this earth. He taught me the game of golf. Need I say more?

I was blessed with three beautiful daughters. All of them very different and unique. They all have loving and kind hearts. I hope, in some way, I have instilled those good qualities. One thing I have learned as a mother is that my children never belonged to me. They are free spirits. Their lives are their own to live. I think the greatest gift that you can give your children, besides love, is independence. And I really do believe I deserve a medal for putting up with all three of them.
