Fuel Desk/Shift Supervisor

I worked the 11 p.m. - 7 a.m. shift as a cashier on the fuel desk of a moderate-sized truck stop. I not only completed large cash transactions for fuel but also had to process 35 types of fuel cards. Each card had a different procedure to complete the transaction correctly. Cash accountability was of primary importance. I was the only cashier/manager on duty at this time; therefore, all customer-related issues were addressed by me. I was responsible for end-of-shift paperwork and often assisted the bookkeeper when problems arose. Good customer service was a must.

Countrol Counter/Shift Supervisor

I worked the afternoon and midnight shifts as a cashier on the Control Counter of a large truck plaza. At this truck stop we processed large volumes of cash and fuel card transactions daily, as much as $18,000 per shift. On the afternoon shift, I worked with 1-2 other cashiers which required great teamwork. On midnights I was by myself which left me in charge of the Counter and gift shop. I was one of only two cashiers which was qualified and trained to work the Control Counter as will as the gift shop/gas registers. The Control Counter was in charge of the safe and all monies kept for conducting transactions in the truck stop. At the end of a year I transferred to I-69 Auto/Truck Plaza, another truck sop owned by G & G Oil, Muncie, IN.
