Author's Notes for "But A Shadow"

I'm not entirely certain where this one came from. But I thought of the times where, troubled by a dream partaking of memory and fear equally, I turned my face into my husband's shoulder, felt his warmth, and the fear left and I slept again. The strength of a marriage is not who you are each, but what you become together.
