 Softly softly toes go creeping
Gently gently no floor creaking
Faster faster hearts are beating
Excited at who I might be meeting

In the hearth the fire is glowing
Shadows on the wall are showing.
I must hide here without him knowing
Otherwise he might get going

At the Christmas tree he makes a stop
And admires the fairy at the top
The Christmas bell it gives a tinkle
Which makes old Santa's eyes a twinkle

Slowly slowly he takes his sack
And gently lowers it from his back
I feel as excited as can be
Whatever will Santa leave for me?

The Christmas tree it stands aglow
with lots of presents stacked below
some chocolate for Mummy some socks for dad
And for me a dolly that makes me so glad
