2 cups sugar half cup water 1 well rounded large teaspoon gelatine, half cup hot water, beat the sugar with the cold water in a bowl. Add the gelatine which has been dissolved in the hot water, Beat until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture thickens. pour into a greased slab tin and leave to set. Cut into squares, roll in coconut or crushed nuts if you prefer

Chocolate Slice

Three Weetbix , one cup coconut,one cup Brown Sugar,one cup SR flour,one egg,125 grams butter

Method

Crush weetbix and combine with Coconut,Brown sugar, Flour, melt butter, beat egg and add to dry ingredients. Pour into a slice tray and cook for 15 minutes in a moderate oven. Top with chocolate frosting when hot, cut into squares. This is a poem about my Baking days I hope enjoy reading it

Baking Day Blues

It’s a busy day for me,

with bowl and spoon and recipe

In the pantry I check to see;

that I have enough ingredients to make a pie for tea.

Sift the flour and rub in the butter.

Knead the dough. Oops I have to find my pastry cutter.

There is flour on my nose it’s making me itch.

I can’t sneeze now it might cause a technical hitch.

I reach for the milk and then start to pour.

It slips from my hand and lands on the floor

The pastry is rolled it’s looking quite neat.

I’m sure this pie will taste a treat.

I turn on the oven and set it to high.

Then chop up the apples to put in the pie.

The oven is ready I put the pie in to cook

I clean up my mess and then take a look

The pie it is baked now, it smells o so nice

Freshly baked apples and cinnamon spice

I whip up the cream to serve with the pie

Next lay the table then I give a big sigh

The clock on the wall tells me it’s almost three

I hope that my friends will not be late for tea.
