Diamond Audio Technology M341i Installation

This page contains information, pictures and comments about the installation of
Diamond Audio Technology M341i 4 1/2" speakers on my 2001 Honda Goldwing.

For those of you who have asked about the Diamond Audio Technology M431i 4 1/2" speakers...I just installed them.

BOY!! What a difference!! The Bass is superb, without distortion, and the
tweeters are crisp and clean. In fact, I have to turn the bass down a notch
from highest setting because it is so strong. There is little or no distortion
at high volume and sound still retains quality. In fact, the volume output
seems to be much louder than the stock speakers at the same settings.
These speakers are coaxial and have a directional tweeter, meaning they are angled.
This directs the high notes toward the riding cockpit. The mounting tags are
of open design and just slightly smaller in bolt pattern than the stock
speakers but they still fit nicely.
The speaker material is made of Kevlar and another material,
which escapes me at the moment, but they appear very weather resistant. The suspension is butyl rubber,
which is rot resistant, unlike the suspension on the stock speakers.
The tweeters are aluminum.
Another note:
the tangs on the speakers that the wires plug up to are much smaller and not polarized,
meaning both tangs are the same size, but they are clearly marked positive and negative.
The connectors on the bike speaker wires still fit snugly on the speaker tangs.
I also filled the speaker cavities with polyfill- which is used to stuff pillows-
to help cut down on sound deflection.
Also, make sure to use the supplied gaskets to cut down on vibrations.
I have no hums, rattles, vibrations or distortion.
My rear speakers are Alpine 4". I will replace them with the Diamonds
when more funds are available, as they are a bit pricey.
I highly recommend these speakers. The price is steep, but the quality is superb.
