The Revelation


The book of Revelation was written to be understood. In some respects, it is the simplest book in the Bible. God has given a fivefold reason and encouragement for anyone to understand this particular book.

  1. It is a revelation (apocalypse), which is an unveiling. It is in contrast to an apocrophal book. (hidden)
  2. Revelation is not a sealed book. (Rev. 22:10 cf. Dan. 12:9)
  3. A blessing is promised to him that readeth and to them that hear the words of this prophecy. (Rev. 1:3 In the light of this statement, it is pious nonsense to state that God does not intend for us to understand it.)
  4. The analysis of the book is simple.
  5. The symbolism of the book, which funished the key to the interpretation, is found elsewhere in the Bible.
