II Timothy
Written from Rome about A.D. 67 shortly before his martyrdom. Last of the writings of Paul.
Purpose: - to instruct Timothy to be courageous in standing for the truth. Timothy of a timid, retiring nature. Paul pushed him forward. Note personal touch. (4:13). Asks him to bring John Mark.

To visit certain ones in their houses especially simple minded women, laden with sins, who are neve able to settle down in the right way, thus always a prey to religious cranks and designing men; as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses by trying to rival Moses, so do these people resort to lying wonders.
