Subsequent Pregnancy

2nd U/S at 17wks4days
Nathan Daniel's pregnancy was relatively uneventful until July 2000. I had the usual nausea - all day sickness - until around 24 weeks. All of his appointments had been normal, and so were his ultrasounds.
I was admitted to the hospital on July 18th for preterm labor. We caught it early and I was only a fingertip dialated and 30% effaced. I was on magnesium sulfate from Tuesday until Saturday morning. I received two shots of steroids to mature Nathan's lungs. The doctor ordered a t-pump inserted on Friday evening, and I was able to go home Sunday, July 23rd. I was on bedrest until August 17th.
Reuben and Aaron were really interested in my tummy and feeling the baby kick. Reuben had fears that we would lose another baby, and we tried to reassure him and ourselves.
Nothing can be more stressful on a family than losing a child. Siblings feel that is their fault that the baby died, and it takes time to convince them otherwise. Reuben has a fear that he wasn't being "good."
David and Angel will always be in our hearts, and we hope they will watch over us and protect us from harm.
Our fondest hopes were realized. Nathan Daniel Jacobs was born September 8, 2000 at 1:40 pm. He is doing wonderfully. He is happy, healthy and hungry! We think he is trying to catch up to his big brothers!
