Pastor Dan

Hi, I'm Dan Maloy, the pastor at Cross Plains Baptist Church. Welcome to my desk and please excuse the mess. They say that a messy desk is the sign of genius, but my wife tells me it's just my way of marking my territory. I know that finding a church where you can grow in your walk with the Lord is no easy task. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit has led you to this site and that He will lead you to the church He wants you at. I'm not here to sell you on our church. I'd just like to share a little bit of myself and my heart with you.

I have been the pastor of Cross Plains Baptist Church for a little over 6 months now, and I can tell you that it is the first church that I came into where I felt totally at ease and comfortable as they considered me as their pastor. They are a genuinely loving church body. If you come visit us, you will feel the love of the Lord in them as soon as you walk through the front doors.

I have been blessed with a wonderful church, a beautiful wife, Kim, and 5 wonderful children. Kim shares in the ministry with me and is heavily involved in the children's minstry. (They say they only kept me to keep Kim and her infectious smile!) Life hasn't always been this good, especially since I did not have the Lord in my life until I was 22 years old. I haven't been the same since that day though. Whether heading up or down, Jesus has walked every step of the way with me.

Having Jesus as my Savior has made all the difference in the world to me. The day He came into my heart will forever be a day that I cherish. He is my best friend and constant companion. My desire as the pastor of Cross Plains Baptist Church is to help everyone who worships with us to receive Jesus as their personal Savior, if they have never done so, and to help them get to know Him better every day. Praising and worshiping the Lord is one of life's great pleasures for me, just to spend time with Him and feel the depth of love that He has for me. It is my prayer that people will walk out of church knowing that the Lord was there with them, and that He made a difference in their lives. You see, all too often we think that God is so far away from us and isn't concerned with us. That couldn't be further from the truth. He says that He will be our God, and we will be His people, and He will dwell with us. Too often we come to church and all we get there is what man has put together, and since we don't meet God at church, we begin to think that He has left us all together. God is waiting for us to come to Him with a humble and broken spirit. When we come in that manner, He will honor us with His presence. I truly love each and every person in our church and I want them to have a deep walk with the Lord. Don't you want to know Him better? If you have never asked Jesus to forgive you for your sins, and to be the Lord of your life, He is there waiting for you now. All you have to do is open the door. If you need someone to talk to about this decision, you can email me at pastord@one.net. May God bless you and keep you. Hope I see you soon!

In His Grace,
Pastor Dan
