The tribute to Michael started in the middle of the show. Evan, Noah, and Alex walked out on the large oval shaped stage (Kevin wasn't able to attend because he's at the set of his new movie). Then Evan began his speech...
"How many of you want to be famous? How many of you want to sing? How many of you want to act? How many of you want to come out with your own CD and show? How many of you want to write a book about your own life experience? How many of you are survivors....? Michael was. Michael accomplished all of these things in just 16 short years of his life."
Then, Michael's parents walked out on the stag and his mother spoke, "Yes....and so Michael was. He was a very strong hero that fought to the end. Now, we'd like to show you a tribute video we all put together for our young hero.....please enjoy."
The lights dimed, and everyone faced a large screen on the stage. The video contained footage of when Mike was just a baby, to a lil' tike, to when he was in the hospital with cancer, and all the way to when he was in "2GETHER". There was a narrator along the way, explaining each and every segment.The video ended with the most recent pid of Mike before he passed on. Then words appeared that said...."MICHAEL JAMES CUCCIONE" then it went to another pic that said "(January 5th 1985-January 13th 2001) RIP You'll be missed." Sometime during the video Alex played a song for Mike on his guitar.
The guys were crying (I don't blame them) including his parents and the fans in the crowd also. The crowd waved thier glowsticks in the air to show respect. Then, the lights came back on. Michael's song "VISUALIZE" played...and the guys and Mike's parents sang along....added by the many vocies of the crowd Michael's mom, a bit shooken, spoke again.......
"I know that Michael is with God now, where he belongs." Then his father spoke, "Yes,I believe he's looking down on us everyday, smiling and saying everything's gonna be all right, just take it a day at a time."
His mother speaks again, "Michael, Honey, I know you hear us...We love you and we always will...I hope you liked our video we made for you." Then his father added, "We all do, anything you'd like to say guys?"
Noah took his mic and said "Well, Mr. and Mrs. Cuccione, you pretty much said it all....but we would like to say, we love you Mike, and we love you"
Then Alex said, "And remember" And everyone else joined in, "2gether, we can make a difference"
"Goodnight everyone, enjoy the rest of your evening." Said Michael's father as they each left the stage. Mike's song "make a difference" played. The total of Michael buttons sold were over 800. I belive the girls of Dream were next. From what I hear, most of the other artists were saddned also. After they left the stage Mike's parents were selling copies of Michael's book, CD, and buttons, which all sold out in less than an hour and they were signing and taking pics with the fans.
