Sounds Of Night
Have you ever gone out on the porch,
to just sit there quiet and still?
Listened to The Sounds Of Night,
or the occassional Whippoorwill?
Have you every heard an English Thrush,
calling to its mate?
Or perhaps a Cuckoo Clock at night,
reminding you you're late!
Have you ever heard a whistling bird
waiting for it's mates reply?
Or have you watched a mother Hen,
feeding her chicks, close by?
Have you heard a Rooster crow,
with the sun's rise at each dawn?
Or the mournful coo of a Dove,
that often sounds forlorn?
All these treasures come quite free
if you want to enjoy the thrill.
Of listening to the birds that sing,
as you're sitting there so still.
